ASNES!It will never end!

I'll take Carmens spot

Welcome aboard, Tyrion!

Right... so we have webbed feet till we are 30... and really sharp toenails... and weird coloured hair... are we a race of circus people? Oh and can i change some of those details?

Yes you can. It's your race. Give stories explaining your race, and you're more apt to survive.

Everyone get orders in!ASAP

The Shokuin lived by the sea, by water. They always had, since time forgotten. It was said they were blessed by the water spirits, with their webbed feet and hands they were already adept swimmers but with their increased lung capacity they were superb. It was almost as if they could filter the very air out of the water.

They had risen to the top of the local food chain through cunning and skill. They had no need for 'tool's as their very finger and toenails were elongated claws. Thier teeth as well were sharp and almost canine in appearence, fangs. In the water they would leap upon the larger slower moving creatures and slice them open, letting them bleed to death in the water before dragging their bodies back to wherever the tribe was camped. The blood naturally attracted the larger sea predators, sharks and the like, which the Shokuin gladly took on. It was the aim of all young Shokuin males to bring home a great shark and indeed sharks were intentionally lured to wherever the Shokuin happened to be living at the time to test out young boys as they grew into adulthood.

Times were changing however, some of the tribe were pointing to the land for the future, there was great bounty upon soil they said. Many creatures to challenge their hunting skills on, not to mention all many of other things to spend time on. And so some of the tribe spent less time in the water and more on land... while their natural advantages were just as helpful on land a new skill set was needed. Running speed and hunting tactics came into play. The Shokuin observed other predators and learnt, they reasoned that pack hunting was best suited for their people. And so working like wolves, they encircled prey and brought it down savagely. Unlike wolves however they did feast immediatly, prefering to drag the bodies of whatever creature they had fell upon back to camp in order to compare with the sea creatures brought in.

The land Shokuin and the water Shokuin did not get on too well and threatened to splinter the tribe. Arwat lead male would have none of this though. He wished to use both groups to create bigger tribe. One that would hunt all over the land and be the most dangerous creature known to mother nature.

Update tomarrow! So far only 2 sets of orders hahaha.

btw, Tyrion noone will care what your orders are at this point. You can't effectively declare war on someone and plan out attacks yet, so it doesn't really matter what your tribe does haha. So post them on the forum, instead of sending me a PM from now on.

No diplomacy and no war untill your races start factioning off into tribes. I will tell you when that starts to happen. If your race decides to expand into another race's "territory" skirmishes will happen untill one race is driven from the site.

Oh i didnt mean other races... im no where near anyone :P Just in case they decided to hit themselves

I know, Tyrion. I'm just saying you don't need to PM your orders yet. Leave my PM box empty till it matters.

I'll ask again, is this totally story based currently, with bonus' given during update?

Totally story based right now. You can put in your orders to expand in one direction more than the others, however you cannot give detailed orders at all. If you write stories you will more than likely get a good random event rather than a bad random event (Such as your race dieing out). If you get evolution points during an update, you can tell me where to spend it on the next turn. I'm updating tonight everyone. This NES is really damn easy to update, so I don't know what we're waiting for.

The Janjaweed tribe approached the grazing herbivores. Their excited chattering awaiting the inevitable kill. They new any moment another member of the tribe will let out the battle cry and disturb the herbivores, sending them into a panic. Saja simply had to wait it out in the bushes, ready to strike.

Saja's baby sat behind her playing with a spider that had been spinning its web amongst the bushes leaves. His eyes darts left and right examining the strange creature, then quick as a flash his thumb spur stabbed into the spider. He brought up his hand and tasted the grey/blue goo that was on his spur.

"Eugh" Spitting it out with distaste. He had no other language to express his feelings, but Saja smiled. The young boy was learning quickly the environment around him-he experimented with everything, probing tasting everything new he came across. While his lastest meal had not been a success he had a strong sence of taste and had identified several new foods for the tribe. Even now a few were at the lake side away from the current hunting trip. The green slime that grew on the rocks had turned out to actually be quite nourishing, aswell as cool the body from the middays blazing heat.

"RRAWWKKK!"

The Cry rang out, suddenly everything was moving. The slow herbivores spun around in panic as Janjaweed emerged from every direction, jet spurts glinting in the bright sunlight. One herbivore was encircled, is span around wildy, lashing out with its tail trying to find a means of excape. The spurs from the Janjaweed were lashing out at a rapid pace, always one step ahead of the herbivore. It was losing move blood and began to slow. Sensing the weakness Saja dived upon the creatures back and drove her spur deep into its spine. The animal dropped down to its knees. Its eyes still blinking, its body a useless lump of flesh now. The Janjaweed moved in and began ripping chunks of flesh from the prone animal.

Wooks, Darwinese, and Florensiensis still don't have orders. If none are recieved, they will go NPC, and I will be looking for players to fill the spots.

Sorry, Darwinese orders.
Expand North.

They watched the turbelent waters of the mighty river before them and tried to find a way across, one of them noticed a log floating down the river and hooted excitedly. Finding a log on land the "leader" pointed to a man and then the log, hooting. The man nodded and took the log and jumped into the river, he was dragged by the strong currents and tried vainly to reach the other side but was smashed against a rock and killed. The rest of the group watched him die and decided not to cross the river and went the opposite way. They went north and meeting no big rivers they happily settled in the mountains further north of their main hunting grounds, half of the group went back and stayed south near the turbelent river to try to figure out how to cross it while the rest stayed in the newly explored territory.

Update 2
Year 140,000 BC

The races gain ground, except for the Florensiensis, who are too stupid to get off of their islands. They're coping with the landscape of their islands however. So they may end up staying alive untill the end for this reason. Wouldn't that be funny? :p

The Shokuins may break into 2 subraces of Shokuin. Land and Sea. That is correct, there may become a race of humans living in the waters.

The wooks are slowly dieing out slowly because they are failing to cope with their environment. They expand, but do not gain very much in the way of population.

2 races gain fire. These races are the Shokuin and Gigantopythecus. Wee! Aint that great!? That provides a good boost for these races survival.

The following races have a evo point to spend...
-Gigantopithecus
-Janjaweed
-Darwinese

Stories and orders! DUE DATE IS THE 6th!

Considering that there's not much to think about, this should be extremely accomplishable. If not, I'll NPC your race.

Yay, nice update- also like the push for fast orders/storys

Fire

Change swept through the tribe at an amazing speed, the social structure of the tribe radically changed in just a few thousand years, from one large group dominated by an alpha male the tribe splintered into thousands of small clans each with an own territory and alpha male. This change turbocharged the progress of the tribe, the new diversity boosted birth rates and progress in the tribe and at last fire was mastered.

It was getting dark and Chukku was sitting in front of the campfire, he stared into the fire, he was intrigued by it, fire had become so important for his family, without it they would never be able to survive the cold winter, fire would dry the wettest of fur, fire also kept the wild animals away from the children when the men went out hunting, fire was also used when hunting, the flames and smoke panicked the wild animals and made it so easy to lead them into a trap, Fire brought a whole new perspective to how things were done.

Chukku was still looking into the fire when he heard a noise at his back, something was approaching from the forest, quickly he rose to his feet, grabbing a burning stick and preparing to defend his family with his life, he could see the shape of a massive creature making his way from out of the dark forest and heading towards him.

“Stupid me” Chukku said to himself “Staring into the fire, now I can barely see in the darkness!”. Much to his relief the massive creature turned out to be his father, on one shoulder he carried the carcass of some huge animal he had caught and in a hand he carried a couple of smaller critters he managed to catch.

Chukku realized he was staring at his fathers catch of the day while still pointing the burning stick in his direction, his father was looking at him, smiling and feeling proud to see his brave little man standing up like a warrior, prepared to defend his family, he also enjoyed the perplex look in his sons eyes whom were staring at all the things he had hunted. Chukku tossed the stick back in the fire and ran to greet his father whom was still smiling, the contrast between his leathery ebony face and his yellowish teeth made his smile seem absurdly large, almost running ear to ear.

Chukku wanted to be like his father, a great hunter whom provided his family all they needed, Chukku remembered the time his father came home with another mother for him, kidnapping women to create or expand one’s clan had become standard practice in the tribe, Chukku was the third child of his fathers second mate, two of his older brothers had died before Chukku was one years old, a younger sister had died just weeks ago, but still he had three mothers, five brothers and 7 sisters, child mortality was still quite common but was far less than before the tribes had splintered and fire was mastered.

Orders:
Expand South
Spend Evo Point on Procreation

Fire had come to the Shokuin, no one was really sure how, but one night the leader of the Pack Shokuin, Land walkers, or dogs as the Aquatic Shokuin refered to them as, walked into the camp bearing a piece of wood, burning. His eyes shone in the dark as he held the 'torch' aloft. Those Shokuin that followed the old ways of saw no use for this invention, indeed their natural habitat extinguished any such light. And those that swam under the moon found their eyes adjusting to the gloom, in fact they found it was not restricted to the water even on land after the sun had set they could see fairly clearly. The fire ruined this and so they shunned it.

Their numbers were great and it was at this time that some began sleeping elsewhere. They remained a part of the tribe but segregated themselves. The majority created camps were they were solely Aquatic or Pack Shokuin, however a couple remained that included both living in a harmonius enviroment. This was not to last.

The Pack Shokuin (named so due to their worship of the Wolf pack hunters) embraced fire. Lighting up their campsites and roasting their meat. The womenfolk even started adding other things to the meat to 'bring out' the flavour. Where the flavour had been hiding was beyond the menfolk.

Again the Aquatic Shokuin shunned the idea of cooking their catch, they ate their prey raw like real Shokuin men. They were also spending more and more of their time in the water, under the moonlight, getting out only to sleep. Some were even watching how fish slept. If Shokuin can swim like fish, the thought process was going, Shokuin should be able toe sleep like fish. After an accident or two they started working at this in pairs, so as to avoid death.

Meanwhile the land Shokuin were honing their hunting abilities, setting traps and implementing basic ambush tactics. The Shokuin chief was getting old and had placed his two sons in charge of the Shokuin groups. One led the Pack Shokuin and had been behind many of their advancements, of which his father was proud. The other was a proud Aquatic Shokuin and a stickler for tradition and the old ways. The brothers were constantly at odds with each other and competed for almost everything.

The chieften was growing old... and tensions were straining.

Orders:
Expand south down the coast (Aquatic Shokuin, working on a better name) and west inland (Pack Shokuin).

Orders:

Expand along the River.
Spend the Evo point on Tool making.

While hunting in packs was successful, injury was common amongst the tribe. The deathly thrashings of a mortally wounded beast was fearsome. Some of the tribe were refusing to hunt altogether and instead chose to wade into the water, eating the tuberous plantroots they found, aswell as any eggs were they lucky enough to find a nest. Because of this the tribe was expanding futher and futher along the river as the resources were used up.

With numbers for hunting groups dwindling those that remained had to get better and better, they learnt to kick up dust at the prey, stinging its eyes and blinding it to the foe beyond the cloud. Into this cloud they would hurl sharp rocks and stones they had collected when preparing for the attack. When the battered and bruised animal finally emerged it was much easier to dispatch than before.

During the day the sun beat down relentlessly o the Janjaweed, most sort shelter under trees or in the water, others now rested in the caves rather than sleep together with the rest of the tribe. In these caves they found a small creature that simply rested above their heads during the day- it was as if they were picking fruit from a tree!
