Siam
The reign of the Ballsknocker dynasty had long ended in 2583BC, when a civil war had erupted within Siam. The war lasted for 56 years, and seen new territories added to the country.
The land was divided into districts governed by governors under the emperor.
One of these lords was Alp Arslan, a Gojoseon in origin, from the lands beyond the Crappy'Latsu. Alp Arslan was a fabled horseman who came to power because of his skill in battle. He fought against bandits and barbarians alike.
At one time, the barbarians from Singapore had invaded, and the late Emperor Kick Ballsknocker summoned him to do battle against them, giving him an army. He led his men to the place where the barbarians were gathered, and the barbarian called him to duel. He rode forward and struk the man down in 1 blow. The horns were blewn, and his army attacked. The barbarians were forced to flea.
From then on he was given the southwestern section of Siam, to protect against barbarians. He ruled soundly.
Another of these governors were Root Caffe. This governor came to power through birth. He was surrounded by able men, but he himself lacked good judgement. At the time of Kick Ballsknocker's demise, he was in control of the central eastern section of the country.
There were 2 more governors in control at this time over regions. Link Saggot, and Bob Zekka. The former ruled over the northwest section, the latter over the northeast. These 2 men were former generals who led campaigns against the barbarians in the north.
The rest of the land was owned by the Emperor, with the capitol called "Balls" at the mouth of the Siam river.
When Kick Ballsknocker kicked the bucket, so to speak, he left his infant son by the name of Suck Ballsknocker on the throne. Long Dong, the prime minister, had taken the reigns of government over for himself. This was the year 2587 BC.
Long Dong quickly assumed that the power he had gained was to be used for his own gain. It wasn't long before he was strutting around the imperial court acting as the Emperor himself. This angered the lords to no end, and each prepaired to depose Long Dong.
They all gathered outside Balls, in the field of Sack to settle the battle. Long Dong's champion, Long Wang, called out to the enemy army. "Why come here to disturb the emperor's peace, Bandits? Go home, and Heaven will show you mercy!"
Alp Arslan rode forth, crying "You have served he who has stripped our emperor of his honor! You will be the first to die!" The two fought for some 10 bouts, and in the end Long Wang fell from his horse.
The combined force of the governors marched forward.
After an hour of battle, Long Dong's force threw back the attackers, and he himself still held the high ground. The governors had to become crafty. They gathered to council.
"Perhaps we must retire" said Bob Zekka. "We can then attack him as he persues."
This strategy was adopted, and the next day the combined army retreated. Long Dong did not persue, however. Long Dong was content to not risk anything, while he remained in control of the imperial district.
The governors conveined.
"This clearly was not the right strategy to persue!" exclaimed Link Saggot. Alp Arslan then crossed his arms and looked at the others with disgust. The council broke without a significant prospect of the plan forward.
Alp Arslan went to his own camp that night bitter with the other governors who were not as bold as he. His approach was direct. These 2 days were bad luck. nothing more. Tomarrow, if we could be persistant, he thought, our luck would change.
The next day the army of the governors re-emerged to face Long Dong. Root Caffe had tried to gather the council again, but Alp Arslan sounded the charge, and he himself blazed forth, charging into the enemy.
It took a half hour to route Long Dong, and Alp Arslan followed up his victory to persue the enemy. Long Dong himself was caught, and put to the sword by Alp Arslan personally.
Alp marched his army into Balls, to do homage to the Emperor only to find the Emperor had been slain some time before, and was only rumored to be holed up in his chambers. He mourned much over this.
It was not certain how the country should go forward at this point. Caffe was the most noble of birth of them all, so it may have been prudent for him to be appointed the new emperor. Alp Arslan, however, was certain that he would doom the Empire of Siam to darkness if he were Emperor.
Alp took command of the district himself.
The other lords did not consent, and in stead returned to their steads to prepair to dethrone him. Meanwhile, Alp gathered together many men of talent under his banner, and prepaired to subjugate the rest of Siam.
Bob couldn't help but campaign in the north that fall, and by the next year, he had a large territory, carved out from the barbarian lands. Link Saggot did the same thing, becoming envious of his neighbor.
Finally, Caffe went to war with Bob to make himself more powerful before he confronted Alp Arslan. Bob crushed Root Caffe, and took his lands. Alp moved quickly to settle this matter.
Alp Arslan then met Bob in a field south of the city of Ayik, where Alp routed Bob's forces. In the remaining months of the campaign season, as Alp was consolidating his gains, Link came to pay homage to Alp, and support him as new Emperor. Alp had him killed, and siezed his lands. He was now the Emperor.
Emperor Alp Arslan, of Siam. His reign ushered in an erra of unprecedented wealth, as he clearly only focussed on economic matters, neglecting his military, as he relied on his own bravery to settle matters of military dispute. Word came to him that a very powerful nation to the north, not mere barbarians, the Capi'Latsu, and he sent envoys for peace.
"How can we become prosperous if we spend our fruits on warfare?" he said. So the Arslan dynasty came into power, and the policies of Siam became increasingly mercantile.
