keeping it real
Bad bishop is bad.

not if you're playing against them
(re : Sashie)
). Actually I think this is the only game I've ever resigned while up in material but nevertheless it looks pretty hopeless for me.

(thanks for the analysis in the other thread, BTW).
Go get 'em Colin!

Yeah, the Noteboom variation of the semi-slav is pretty wildly different from any other opening I play. However, I do like it & like the two passed queenside pawns you can get with it if white plays normally.I play a limited range of openings that lead to positions I'm familiar with.
Maybe I'll join after all, I'm tempted not to take on any more games at one time just because I've been playing so poorly lately but I do kind of feel like joining (and since my rating is lower I'll be matched up against someone easier).I locked our team but then decided to join at the last minute but it was too late, their team captain had started the match. I would have only been paired against a 1700 & have only lost against an under 1800 maybe four or five times. Ah well. Either way, I think we can take 'em.I accepted another team match - We chat global vs. Narz's People.
I'm not going to join but it's open to everyone/all ratings.

You are a master tactician!

I will also suggest we counter d4 with d5 (though I suspect Nf6 may win anyway). How do you know they'll play d4 though?I will accept that challenge with pleasure, Narz! For our opening move, I suggest we counter d4 with d5. That's what I will be voting for.
