I'm back and ready to kick some a**! Watch out for my chess blog (both at Chess.com and at the old whiteeagleaerie.com), as well as Chess Talk, my new Chess-themed podcast! :D
 
I'm going to decline it for now. A : because we've still got 18 team matches already going (though seven are over 80% complete) and B : because many of our up & coming stars (such as you, Panzar, that VudeChile guy) are now above 2000 and we only have a handful players between 1600-2000 (Tenna of course is da' bomb & this Paulus cat seems pretty sharp too but they can't take on their whole team himself). I'll decline for now & challenge them again in a few weeks to an <2100 match. :)
 
Well, actually I think my rating will start rising once I get the hang of these long time controls... :D

From OTB and Live play, which I both have been doing long before I got into chess.com and 'correspondence' play, I'm used to time controls being measured in minutes if not seconds. I still tend to rush moves, and still tend to be inaccurate with my play because I don't overthink my move long enough. That'll have to change ;)

Hiho friends, I'm back from my unannounced chess-hiatus. Was in Spain for a month and had lost some motivation before that but now I have returned. Only have 3 games running at the moment (lost on time in a forth but unrelated to NP) so if I'd be up for some team matches if low skilled players are needed :)

According to Vudu we'll have a GM visiting our team @ chess.com tonight. Not sure how he plays for us to talk to this fellow, maybe via Live Chess, a private chat there?

As I said (on NP notes), too bad all our vote games are still in the opening (where he probably won't be able to provide any analysis we don't already have access to). I wouldn't consider this cheating as long as he joins our team (other teams we're facing have titled players in them). If he does he'd be member 100 (though technically that's a glitch & we only have 94 players now, not 99).

Also welcome back Riffraff! :)
 
Congrats to DaveShack for beating me in game 1 of our two games. I'll try to make the next game just as interesting, if not more so!

BTW, I'm a regular member now at Chess.com.

Edit: I just created a social group for all us chess players here. Join it! It's called CFC Chess Players for lack of a better name.

You found some good chances in that game, including a potential mate if I hadn't been paying attention. The biggest thing for you to improve is watching for simple captures.
 
I was paying closer attention after I lose a whole bunch. ;) Maybe playing fewer games is better for me.
 
I issued a team challenge to Global Women who had challenged us earlier now that all of our team games (except one) are more than half over. I'll post here when they accept it (and you should also get a message depending on your alerts).

Edit : they accepted :D
 
I'm not playing in team games until I finish my current games, and then raise my rank to 1200 again.
