At long last: 1.21 released!

There is minor graphical issue with Chinese War Elephant during attack. Animal itself is ok but rider looks weird. Will try to catch screenshot later if needed.

And other, trying to join city with great doctor makes game ctd. Save provided though its multiplayer :-/
edit : actually even golden age or technology research will result in ctd, it`s something with animation /gesture of GP/ i believe.

Thanks for the report. I'm out of town till Friday, will look into it when I get home.

You can still build wells next to rivers even though you aren't supposed to be able to do this.

Back home now, catching up on issues posted while I was away.

Had a crash near the start of the game upon finding Victoria Falls and the movie trying to load. Hope attached autosave is of use, I copied the 'CivIV unexpectedly closed' report into a .rtf as well if you want it. The error repeated once when the scout in the south moves tile by tile SE-SW-SE-NE, but on a third try it didn't happen.

This crash isn't replicating for me after 5 attempts, please post the crash log so I can see if there are any further clues to the cause.

Edit: later on, having built several Orchards with Pottery, I researched Hunting, and now I can build Camps but Orchards claim to require Crop Rotation.

Orchards require irrigation (like Farms). You need Crop Rotation to build an Orchard on a tile adjacent to another Orchard or Farm, but isn't itself adjacent to fresh water.

I see it, will see what I can do.

I can't load the saved game to check, but were you playing the Kushan, Indians, Dravidians, Polynesia, or one of the American civs? Someone reported a similar issue earlier, need to confirm if it's the same unit being problematic or another one.

It only checks for rivers orthogonally, not diagonally, as BTS itself does. This is is kinda confusing though, so I may rethink the Water Well.

Assyrian, can try to gift him to girlfriend (egyptian) to see if he will be unusable for her too

There's definitely some weird things going on with culture. I had a rebellion that spawned the dutch, then the egyptians had a rebllion that spawned nubians. As I reconquered a city from the dutch the same turn the nubians spawned appearantly the city now considers itself overwhelmingly nubian.

Also I keep getting "end of peace treaty" with the wrong people all the time. It might be connected if the spawning of new civs is messing up how the game identifies who is who.

Keep having crashes of various kinds. This one really bugs me-- but I can't remember the protocol for taking a screen shot, or game capture, or whatever it is, though I've done it long ago, please advise, thanks.

I can't replicate the issue but this unit is from the same batch of units as the previously reported one, so clearly there's something awry with them on some systems. They were original missionary units but I modified them to use as Great Doctors, I may have overlooked something in the process. Will investigate. Could you post the crash report?

I'll be releasing 1.21.1 soon, which will hopefully solve most of these issues.

That message is part of BUG. I had a quick look at the related file; rather convoluted. This fix may have to wait a while.

I've started another game as the dutch and discovered some problems. The philosophical trait is broken, it sounds good on paper but really means you'll end up with a city with alot of free priests and little possibility to get any other kind of GP. Unless you start a later start and have the means to actually run specialists from the start. Also a bunch of civics simply do not work for the dutch. I've tried to run aristocracy for production and wellfare for GP-points (as my priest-ridden former capital doesn't have my state-religion). I do not as a dutch get extra GP-points or production from these civics. My english campaign had no such problems.

Philosophical will be reviewed for 1.22. I agree it's a problem. Also, I'm exploring having Great Prophets generated separately from other great people, which will eliminate this conflict once and for all.

Aristocracy's production from trade routes works but doesn't display on the city screen properly I think. I think Firaxis implemented this functionality but never intended it to be used so ti has some quirks. It's also 25% production of each trade route - not all trade routes combined. In other words, if all your trade routes generate less than 4 commerce each, you will get no extra production from them at all. Only those generating 5 or more commerce will provide production. This is also true of Confederation's food generating mechanic.

Social Welfare doesn't affect GPP, do you mean Altruism? Also, be sure to grab the just released 1.21.1! Many stability fixes, and more.

Yes, the civics name is altruism. And it doesn't work for the dutch. I should have a 50% extra bonus in all cities with my state religion and I haven't got that. I will playtest it a little more before I download the next upgrade so for now I'll just nerf priest-specialists in the xml. But I will try the next upgrade soon.

Aren't all Great People generated separately in 1.21?

Yes, but they all they have the same generation threshold, i.e. once a great person is generated, it requires a higher amount of :gp: for the next one of any type. I'm looking at giving Great Prophets their own separate threshold and generation resource (faith) so that you can spawn as few or as many as you won't without affecting your ability to spawn other great people.

Strange. That's a standard BTS mechanic provided in the xml. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be working at all, let alone for a particular civilization/leader.

I posted in the wrong thread. see here for my previous error and how I fixed it.

New error
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "BugEventManager", line 336, in _handleDefaultEvent
File "CvEventManager", line 1309, in onGoodyReceived
RuntimeError: unidentifiable C++ exception
I got barbarian warriors from a goody island.

It looks like it is trying to replace the barbarian warriors with a UNIT_PIRATE but there is no such unit. It has been commented out.

Also as a query the loop over the plots around the given plot is coded
Code:
			for iXLoop in xrange(iX - 1, iX + [B]2[/B], 1):
				for iYLoop in xrange(iY -1, iY + [B]2[/B], 1):

Shouldn't that be
Code:
			for iXLoop in xrange(iX - 1, iX + [B]1[/B], 1):
				for iYLoop in xrange(iY -1, iY + [B]1[/B], 1):

Nothing wrong.

for i in range(2, 5, 1) means a for loop that starts at 2.
Which then increases by 1 each iteration.
If it is >= 5, it will stop.
Thus, it will only be 2, 3, 4.

So if you want a radius of 1 loop, it should be (iX - 1, iX + 2)

OK. It is a code language difference.

I am used to

If it is >5 it will stop.

Why does one Great Person make harder to get one of an other type?

Presumably either because it is hard-coded into the game this way, or else it's considered overpowered to be able to generate five or six GP in one turn. Specialist Economies would be extremely strong this way...

hellou my game crash in next turn. It hapen probali 3 tymes.
So i postet the save for analize, if is a some of the unkov bugs.

And second think that is on my mynd:
On the city screnn you have a background sound loop. In that sound loop where is horse cloping...
in that loop is single line ... and what i hear is "You Suck" :twitch:
Its my imagination or what?
