ATI Graphics Card Owners: PLEASE READ

I have a Radeon 9200SE with Omega drivers 2.6.05a. I run Win XP on an AMD 1700+ with 512MB Ram. No real problems. One quirk, the opening video hickups. It stops for a split second every 2 seconds. I dunno what that's about but other than that I've had no problems.

my game comes on butwhen i go to tutorial,or single player game my screenis black and i can only see the units and resources kinda in the scenario it looks good

ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
Version 6.14.0001.6292

When I start the game it seems to be starting fine, but after everything have loaded it says "DONE" and I can only hear the background music. It just hangs there forever, nothing happens.

When I move the mouse and click random button, something appeasr to be happening (the icon changes to a loading one, and the one that appears when you are to type in something) but I can't see anything.

I have to kill the process from the task manager.

card:Radeon 9800 pro
driver:6.14.10.6490
works fine.
card:Radeon X850
driver:same as above
works fine and dandy

ATI Mobilty Radeon 9700

3.40 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 with HT but turned off

No problems so far

Radeon 9550
"Failed..." message after following the suggested steps and severals others as well.
I guess there's nothing left to do but cry myself to sleep...

Card: 256 MB PCI-Express, VisionTek Xtasy x300 SE, Graphics/Drivers are by ATI
Driver Version: 6.14.10.6553
Status: Works Well

I guess this is kinda like the cheap version of a straight ATI card, this one was $100 at Best Buy.

So, I uninstall the game [as mentioned before], reboot. Then uninstall my ATI drivers using the ATI-cat-removal program, reboot. Then install the new drivers, reboot. Install game again, reboot. Attempt to run game, this time it says "Cannot Locate the CD-ROM: Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application."

Now, the CD in the drive is the second Civ4 CD, I know that as a fact, I just finished installing it!!!

But the CD drive won't open when I tell it to eject [!!!].

What, the, #*%^? .

I was getting that message until I figured out that it needs the first cd (mine is labeled "Disk 1/ Install"). give it a shot.

Roger that, trying it now.

But this is FUBAR [pardon my French].

Murdock I've got the x800 XL AGP as well. Let me know if you get it going, I don't know if I'm quite as tech savvy as you. ;)

I do not have the game still but somone should try messing with the Catalist center and all is "Intelligent" preset... maybe some of the bugs are happening because of that...
