Audio Quotes

Sorry for ignoring you. Here is a tech quote for you as well ...

Navigation
Though pleas'd to see the dolphins play, I mind my compass and my way.

Thanks in advance! :goodjob:

His voice would be better suited for "different than U.S.A. sounding quotes, since he has a "very strong accent". I dont mean to offend in any ways. Actually i think for Ren Era?? What do you think??

@SO

I don't see where an accent would be a problem as long as we can understand the quote. One problem Astral Phaser had was he did not know how to read many of the words in the quote, which lead to bad audio quotes. He too had an Aussie accent, but was also young and had a higher pitched voice.

On a side note I bet they think that Americans are the ones with the accent. ;)

EDIT: I am also not sure which quotes would fall under "different than U.S.A. sounding quotes". Unless it was like a horrible stereotype like ...

"You call that knife. This is a knife." - Crocodile Dundee

Here is the first file you sent me, sorry it took a while first we got swamped by snow here in the south, so after marveling at the inch we got we did all sorts of shenanigans and such. The mp3 file should be there, if you want to do anything else with that file, I can edit audacity real quick and give you an updated one. Otherwise, hope it's fine :cringe: and hope I can help out more!

EDIT: If you want me to do that quote again, just say the word, just tell me which words/phrases you want me to emphasize

Sounds good to me! :goodjob:

@BlackDragon2026

Here are some more ...

Leadership
Soldiers usually win the battles and generals get the credit for them.

Naval Tactics
It follows than as certain as that night succeeds the day, that without a decisive naval force we can do nothing definitive, and with it, everything honorable and glorious.

Thermodynamics
Nothing in life is certain except death, taxes and the second law of thermodynamics.

Sanitation
When I got out of high school they retired my jersey, but it was for hygiene and sanitary reasons.

City Planning
Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood.

Naval Cannons
The cannon will not suffer any other sound to be heard for miles and for years around it.

Mercantilism
A country that has no mines of its own must undoubtedly draw its gold and silver from foreign countries, in the same manner as one that has no vineyards of its own must draw its wines.

Magnetism
Magnetism, as you recall from physics class, is a powerful force that causes certain items to be attracted to refrigerators.

Humanism
O supreme generosity of God the Father, O highest and most marvelous felicity of man. To him it is granted to have whatever he chooses, to be whatever he wills.

Photography
Not everybody trusts paintings but people believe photographs.

Automatic Weapons
Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons.

Theory of Relativity
In relativity, movement is continuous, causally determinate and well defined, while in quantum mechanics it is discontinuous, not causally determinate and not well defined.

Quantum Physics
If anybody says he can think about quantum physics without getting giddy, that only shows he has not understood the first thing about them.

Thanks in advance! :goodjob:

Great to see how many volunteers we have at the moment with tech quotes :goodjob:

Hydro if you running short on Quotes, iE if most of them on your list are voiced, let me know and I play through the game again and note those that need a new audio.

@Faustmouse

Its true that there are some audio for those tech already but they do not match the text. I am basically going to down the list of quote and if they don't have an audio quote or they don't match the text then I assign it to a volunteer. And most of the text that doesn't match are from the Realism Invictus mod.

Hi everyone, I've heard some great tech quotes while playing C2C (love Darrinus' voice), but, as you know, there are also many techs with no audio. So I'd like to help.
Here's my first one see if you like my voice :)
I applied some noise removal to remove most of the static, but it does make the voice a little hollow, so I tried some reverb on it. (done in Audacity)
EDIT: I just took a tech quote from the recent list. I'm not sure if it's been done yet XD

Apiculture: http://www.mediafire.com/listen/f44qw90vwpad51a/Apiculture.mp3
Apiculture (with reverb): http://www.mediafire.com/listen/9hev3q8nmstmw5c/Apiculture Reverb.mp3

I've also being trying to get a ping/ding. I found 4 of them in the BTS assets/sounds folder, though weirdly, they sound a bit static-ky. It'd be nice if we could vary between the 4 pings throughout the techs.

@jhgenius01

It sounds good to me. But you need a "ding" at the beginning. In addition those I believe Apiculture is already finished. So here is a new one for you to try.

Armored Vehicles
Who drives armored cars? People who expect gun-fire. Usually people with some fire-power of their own.

@lastbeluga

That sounds GREAT! :goodjob: Here is your batch then ...

Motion Pictures
A movie is never finished, only abandoned.

Marxism
From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.

Labor Union
All that serves labor serves the nation. All that harms is treason. If a man tells you he trusts America, yet fears labor, he is a fool. There is no America without labor, and to fleece the one is to rob the other.

Psychology
Like the physical, the psychical is not necessarily in reality what it appears to us to be.

Machine Tools
When a machine begins to run without human aid, it is time to scrap it - whether it be a factory or a government.

Aviation
Aviation is proof that given, the will, we have the capacity to achieve the impossible.

Guerrilla Warfare
In guerrilla warfare they taught us to use our weaknesses as strengths.

Compulsory Education
Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?

Copper Working
The brightest crowns that are worn in heaven have been tried, and smelted, and polished, and glorified through the furnace of tribulation.

Submarine Warfare
Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!

Radar
We tend to pay attention to that which is the most current on our radar screen.

Communications Networks
The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it.

Mesh Networks
Describing the Internet as the Network of Networks is like calling the Space Shuttle, a thing that flies.

Many Thanks in Advance! :goodjob:

@BlackDragon2026

Those sound awesome!! :goodjob: Its up to SO, but I think they are great. Here is your next set.

Smart Dust
But those concerns won't slow this storm. A Dust Age is upon us.

Optronics (TECH_OPTICAL_COMPUTERS)
People think computers will keep them from making mistakes. They're wrong. With computers you make mistakes faster.

Brain Machine Interface (TECH_HUMAN_MACHINE_INTERFACE)
My Brain Machine will enable me to advance mans mental evolution a million years. With man possessed of the brain power of the future, the worlds greatest problems can be solved today.

Weather Control
Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.

Advanced Flight
According to classical aerodynamics, it is impossible for a bumblebee to fly.

Naval Aviation
Fight on and fly on to the last drop of blood and the last drop of fuel, to the last beat of the heart.

Vertical Flight
Get to the chopper!

Sonar
I like to operate like a submarine on sonar. When I am picking up noise from both the left and right, I know my course is correct.

Electronics
Our rockets can find Halley's comet, and fly to Venus with amazing accuracy, but side by side with these scientific and technical triumphs is an obvious lack of efficiency in using scientific achievements for economic needs, and many Soviet household appliances are of poor quality.

Amphibious Warfare
Semper Fi!

Mechanized Warfare
The best way to avoid warfare is if no one shows up.

Nuclear Power
Well you know boys, a nuclear reactor is a lot like women. You just have to read the manual and press the right button.

Mass Transit
Beyond highways and roads, we need more money for mass transit, intercity passenger rail and freight rail. We have a long way to go to bridge the funding gaps.

Many Thanks in Advance! :goodjob:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dnzc8e4n4fth6rf/ooB_Axv-5E?m=
The batch requested of me is completed. Let me know if they are all good. If you want me to change or redo any of them let me know and I'll get it done ASAP.

Do me a favor and just put the exact name of the tech there, (ie: Chivalry) and just for your info also, in each put YOUR name so you can get credit for them in the Artist area, if you want that is, its up to you.
Also like Motion Picture, place the words together, no spaces, thx.

@strategyonly
Changed up the names. After each tech name I just wrote "thelastbeluga" for credit purposes. Thanks again

@lastbeluga

Great job on these. I especially like your Submarine Warfare audio. Here is you next batch ...

Computer Networks
I think that the online world has actually brought books back. People are reading because they're reading the damn screen. That's more reading than people used to do.

Jet Propulsion
The challenge was subtle adjustment of jet propulsion.

Lasers
The atoms become like a moth, seeking out the region of higher laser intensity.

Organic Chemistry
Organic chemistry is the study of organs; inorganic chemistry is the study of the insides of organs.

Microchips
I think it's doing very well. I'm pleased to see the concentration on semiconductors. I think this will help.

Microliths
It is easy to dodge a spear that comes in front of you but hard to keep harms away from an arrow shot from behind.

Legalized Gambling
Let it Ride!

Space Flight
We and the cosmos are one. The cosmos is a vast body, of which we are still parts. The sun is a great heart whose tremors run through our smallest veins.

Globalization
It has been said that arguing against globalization is like arguing against the laws of gravity.

Supersonic Flight
If you want to grow old as a pilot, you've got to know when to push it, and when to back off.

Modern Seismology
Jesuits so dominated the study of earthquakes that seismology became known as the Jesuit Science.

Agricultural Engineering (TECH_PESTICIDES)
Second to agriculture, humbug is the biggest industry of our age.

Artificial Intelligence
A year spent in artificial intelligence is enough to make one believe in God.

Many Thanks in Advance! :goodjob:

@strategyonly
Changed up the names. After each tech name I just wrote "thelastbeluga" for credit purposes. Thanks again

Again, it cant have anything but the name of the Audio file there, period, sorry for the confusion. You have to go into EACH file under Properties and change the Artist name there. Again only IF you want, no biggy to anyone else but you.:)

Ok thanks Hydromancerx,

I found 4 different dings in the Civ/BtS game files.
I tried as best as I could to extract them from various quotes, and they are attached to this post. Everyone is free to use them :)

Here is Armored Vehicles:
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/oit6sug762i38hq/ArmoredVehicles.mp3

I digged out an old microphone and it is much better that the one I was using previously.
