Authoritarian Rule: When is it worth it?

I fera socialism though, because I veiw it as a return to dictatorships, the difference being that it is the dictatorship of a majority and not one man or oligarchy.

By no means is a socialist government a dictatorship. Stalin was an example where there was an authoritarian leftist (the state being more important than the individual). Gandi, for example, believed in the supreme value of the individual, a liberal leftist view. Both had socialist policies, but both went about them differently.

Why should I care whether the man taking my hard-earned money away is elected or not? All socialism is by it's very nature totalitarian.

I didn't say dictatorship.

Sorry, I miss spoke, not feeling well. How is it authoritarian?

And no, it's not one man in control neccesarily, that was the USSR, and other failed communist nations who have failed to achieve true communism.
