BUG mod has "General => Autosave => Start save" (which is supposed to save zero turn with unique name - including current timestamp) but it never works for me. "Exit save" works for me - but usually I exit on a mistake and I'd like to begin from 4000BC, not from the later mistake.

Does "Start save" work for you? Any other options?

Built-in autosaves are overwritten if you start a separate game - one needs to preserve zero turn manually.

Every game, I manually save the game with a new name, so it does not overwrite any older ones. I added a folder inside the Saves folder for zero turn saves (I call it Game Starts), which is where I save them.

Okay it seems to work on BUFFY mod but not on regular BUG mod in custom assets (and also doesn't work on BAT mod).

He's talking about a setting in BUG mod which autosaves when you exit the game and it gives the game a unique long name like "Ham_Imm_Sta_Pan_Nor_Anc_3840-BC_Tem_Med_Sep-16-2024_09-37-58"

I noticed there is a file in customassets/python/buffy called GameSetUpCheck.py which seems to be saving the initial game after the map is generated. Maybe ask in the modding forum?

I forgot details of installation, I see stuff in "CustomAssets" but also I start the game with a shortcut with mod="Mods\BUGMod_4.4" with BULL's Mods/BUGMod_4.4/Assets/CvGameCoreDLL.dll inside the mod folder (for pre-chop??)...
