Autumn 2017 Patch General Discussion

I don't know why the game had Freddy start 4 tiles from me, but thanks for the settler.

Sounds like you took a look behind the scenes?

Not at all actually

What I did do a few months ago when the issue first came to light was just play a few test games, where I kept track of the bonuses I had accrued and made sure that I checked the Gov screen every turn to catch it the moment it bugged out and changed what bonuses were being displayed. Then I went and checked the corresponding UI sections that matched up with the bonuses I was meant to be getting (Was I still getting fractions of points towards Great People/CS Influence or reduced faith prices etc as appropriate, or had the numbers suddenly changed as if the bonus had stopped applying) and played on a few turns to make sure that it didn't disappear.

It wasn't exhaustive or especially scientific, but I was satisfied that nothing radical was changing about the bonuses whether they appeared or not. Also as I noted earlier in the thread I never thought to check if the random incorrect bonuses were being given to me as well as the right ones, so I wasn't thorough either

Anyway, I don't see anyone commenting about it, so I assume its fixed in this patch regardless of whether it was completely bugged or just a UI fault?

AI is still not escorting settlers. You have to have very strong willpower not to just declare war and swipe settlers with your scout.

Huh... it lets me advance to the next turn if I click the red X in the city state screen. However it doesn't if you close the city state screen by hitting the escape key (which is what I'm used to doing, and that used to work). Have the people who have been saying it's working, been clicking the x or escape?
I always use F2 to close it. I think I remember ESC never working when you are doing the envoy available prompt thing.

A pic of a couple new items for your viewing pleasure....

No, she speaks Javanese. Probably a modern one tho since she said aku to refer herself rather than older Javanese kulo or kula.

Moreover, she doesn't seem to have a dialect. Typical Javanese speaker have this certain medok dialect that emphasis on several letters. Most probably the voice actor isn't Javanese or live in big city for way too long.

It wasn't, but that's not the point. The point is that Gitarja reigned during the 14th century, but there is no record of the term "Indonesia" being used until the 18th century.

Just wait until we get a Polynesian civ.
The best choice in this situation should be Nusantara or in Javanese, Nuswantoro. However how many people outside CivFanatics will recognize it is still a mystery.

Oh my God. This motion blur thingy makes me dizzy.

Agreed. I can't even understand why anyone would think of this as an improvement. Is it supposed to be more realistic or something? Why would anyone think making the characters look blurry is better?

Overall the patch and new civs are great but this motion blurr is the first time anything has made me seriously consider not playing anymore.

I had switched from High animation to Medium to reduce this nauseating effect.
