I am still trying to figure out how IrfanView can be used to make something transparent. I follow the directions when I save a gif, but nothing happens after I choose the color. Can anyone help?

Most of the gurus here seem to use Photoshop. Since I'm not a image-editing guru, I use PSP. Irfanview is not what I'd use for any kind of image-editing. If you want to add hats and stuff, download trial version of PS or PSP.

I am no pro either, I just found the most amazing and easy picture program to work with, and since then I build pictures.... but was discontinued....

If you guys want a real good free image editing program go get Gimp.
Quite good. But Im so used to photoshop that I dont find Gimp fun to work with but its still a exellent free tool!
