AVS2: Dutch Destruction

Everyone is furious, that looks kinda funny...

IBT - Greece and Maya make peace. Delft riots, I'm sure I checked it.

(1) 1450AD - Our workers sure are slow during anarchy.

IBT - Portugal and Spain ally against Rome. Order is restored in Delft.

(2) 1455AD - Nothing.

IBT - Hittites and Maya make peace. Rome wants no renegotiate peace, I would rather go to war as we soon will do that anyway, but there are lots of romans around our northern cities and near our workers, so I renegotiate peace.

The chaos is over and we enter Fascism.

(3) 1460AD - Entering Fascism reduce the population in most of our cities. I go through all of them; it's not a big problem - we'll grow back in no time.

Max research gives us Replaceable parts in 10 turns at a loss of a whopping -163gpt. No worries, we have the money.

Under Fascism our workers are flying, soon all our cities will be connected with railroads.

Trading the world map with everybody nets us ~150g and rids us of the last dark spots on the map.

IBT - Rome and Byzantines sign peace. Greece and Byzantines sing a MPP. Greece declare war on the Hittites.

Giza:worker->worker

(4) 1465AD - Half a dozen more cities get connected to our railroad net.

IBT - Sumerians, Portugese start the Hoover Dam.

(5) 1470AD - Okay, WW4 is coming up. Time to go through our production. It is now I realize that we still have no forbidden palace.

Switch:
Elephantine: factory->Forbidden Palace. (due in 13 turns, so its vetoable)
Den Haag: factory->Intelligence Agency. (will be finished in 6 turns).
Berlin: courthouse->temple
Zwolle: courthouse->temple
Buto: courthouse->cav
Mendes: granary->cannon
Gouda: barracks->worker
Haarlem: bank->Cathedral

Hurry:
Temple in Alexandria.
Temple in Zwolle.

IBT - Our Wine deal with the Incas ends.
Emmen: worker->worker
Alexandria: temple->cannon
Zwolle:temple->cannon

Massive riots follow with the loss of wines.

Spain settles a city on our continent.

(6) 1475AD - Lots of rearranging in the cities.

IBT - Hittites and Rome sign peace.
Utrecht: factory->cav
Leeuwarden: courthouse->cav

Order is restored in all cities.

(7) 1480AD - Lots of worker actions.

IBT - Emmen: worker->worker

(8) 1485AD - More work.

IBT - Nijmegen, El-Amarna, Munich, Leeuwarden riots, dunno why, probably they have grown.
Arnhem: bank->cav
Haarlem: cathedral->cav
Kerkrade: marketplave->cannon

(9) 1490AD - More work, our core is now completely railroaded.

IBT - Hittites and Spain sign peace.
Emmen: worker->worker
Utrecht: cav->cav
Maastricht: bank->cav
Den Helder: bank->cav
Middelburg: bank->cav
Mendes: cannon->cannon

Rotterdam, Alexandria, Eindhoven riots. Order is restored in the other cities.

(10) 1495AD - More railroads.

That was a rather dull ten turns. Cant say I'm impressed with Fascism so far. Our production is not impressive and our income is cut by corruption. The worker speed was good, but not that good. We'd get faster workers as soon as we get Replaceable parts anyway.

Replaceabe parts in 2 turns.
Intelligence agency in 1.
The Pentagon in 3.
Forbidden Palace in 5. (can be switched to a factory with no loss if somebody does not like to have it in Elephantine.)

A lone Inca Bowman and lots of roman riflemen are inside our borders. When it's time to start WW4 it would be best to use the "leave our territory or declare war" option against them.

5 turns left on a lux for lux deal with Spain.
1 turn left on a lux for peace deal with Inca. (we'll have time to cancel that one before WW4).

Lots of the cities are producing civil buildings, these should probably be switched to military units instead.

Also remember that we do now have the option to use mobilization.

Do I have to declare on Spain breaking our deal or do I wait on them??
Other wise it looks good and I will do my dangdest to make good stuff happen.
Not a got it yet. Finals week finishes this week, probably need the weekend.

If we are going to break deals, why not exploit this to the maximum; get as much techs for gold and gpt and resources. Gold is not very valuable to us; we fascist rush by pop-rushing.

Another nice thing to consider. If we get Replecable Parts, we might get rubber: Infantry. Drafting Infantry = 1 population. Disbanding Infantry = 22 shields. Poprushing = 1 citizen for 10 shields. Thus if we draft Infantry and then disband them (but only if we really need to we get 22 shields per citizen instead of 10.

We have to start the war at 1500AD, that's the rules. We try to stay honorable, but we have already been forced to break deals, so our reputation is flawed.

Then I suggest we go another round until then, rather than losing the tempo. Rik, can you play?

Since we haven't heard from them in quite a while I suggest we play on. As soon as any of them show any sign of life they are of course welcome to jump in, but until then I suggest we carry on.

Of course, this is Andvruss' game, he decides.

I am down to 1 final left. If no one else jumps in I should get a chance to play on Thursday.
Finals week was one reason I wanted to wait a bit, but I should be able to go on Thursday now it looks like. IF someone can jump it sooner, go for it.

Got it. Playing tonite (Thursday). I have no idea when I will finish or post but will try to get it done in the 48 hour range.
World War approaches!!

Hey guys I just noticed something. I patched to 1.22. This means I probably shouldn't play it. And the war was going well too. Shoot. Sorry guys. YOu should be able to kick some roman tush this cycle.

[party] Yay! The forums are back! Looks very nice.

It's been a long time without any update on the game though... :whipped:

I would still love to play if this gets updated to 1.22. I'm really sorry for not noticing it sooner. I think Rome will fall this WW, or at least be beat soundly for tech. I destroyed all of their excess units in the first 2 turns before I realized I had the wrong version. The Cav Armies are awesome for just ripping them apart. This war should allow you to also take the byzantine are with 3-4 cities that has their coal. You can easily become pretty much the only broker of coal in the world with a few conquests.

I would rather not switch game versions during a game. It could mess things up and we really do not want that. Would it be possible for you to downgrade?

How would I do that? I guess it would be good to learn as the next RBC series on the Age of Discovery wants to use 1.15 as well. Sorry for the confusion. You guys can take it as it will take a few days regardless.

The only way I'm sure would work would be to do a clean reinstall of CIV3/C3C and then patch to 1.15b. There are possibly other ways, check the Conquests forum, many others have asked this as well.

If that is the case I will have to withdraw. Sorry to have done this to you guys. You have a great game and concept here. P.S. Hose the romans.
Facisism is actually kind of useful for you in this. After 3-4 turns of WW3 mobilize, (after factories and banks are done in core) and get mad artillary. A human with artillary clears continents quickly.
Good luck, I'll still watch this one.
If you start another similar variant in 1.22 or the most current patch at the time I would love to play in it.

No not yet. If I find the time I'll play tomorrow. I have no time to play Saturday, Sunday, monday and Tuesday; I am visiting my mother who is having her 2nd Chemo-therapy then. RL has reared its ugly head...

So If I haven't played by then consider me skipped due to real life matters. I do want to continue this game !
