An Angel, a Mage, both from Ancient Ruins near my starting location, Auric Ulvin, a great Healer, and a Ranger (thanks to Classical start and Animal Handling on a Ruins).

That got me thinking... why not have the effects of the Dungeon correspond to the visiting units? For example, when I lead Auric in with a healer, maybe he ends up diseased instead of not returning at all. Then the player would be rewarded for bringing support, and would emphasize the value of teammates hanging around watching your back -- maybe he wouldn't have fallen in the pit trap if the Healer weren't there!

i think i saw something like that already ... but again, i completely forgot the result of the discussion on that topic :D

Well, another way that would be less onerous would be to have an Adventurer type that automatically takes those factors into account in a simple way by having them join to the Adventurer. Thus, the Healer would have "Grants +20% chance to avoid bad lair results to leader".

That would be far easier to code for... but would necessitate the addition of a dedicated Adventurer unit (as the unit would have to be a commander), and negate the ability of any standard unit to explore successfully. So again, not going to happen, even if it might be a fun thing to play with.
