Any body remember this old game? It was one of my favorites. I'd like to get a group together to play an emulated version online. If any one is interested let me know.

I have it somewhere, but I never did end up playing it :( I bought it (well, at the time I convinced my parents to buy it for me) because I had the PC game and played the hell out of that.

I have A&A : Europe and a friend of mine has the global version, but we almost never play because it takes forever to set up and play the game.

I own A&A Europe.

Takes like all day to play it though...

I used to have a computer version that was from like 1995 or something, I mean it was old school, man, I have never found it again. It's possible I was playing it with a SNES emulator, I don't remember...

played it a few times with some friends, but quickly lost interest in the boring mechanics. combat especially is really badly handled. and being unlucky with Russia the first few turns can lose you the game. likewise, being unlucky with Japan and/or Germany can make the game a 4 hour long wait for the inevitable loss.

I was not impressed by this game or all the praise its recieving.

sry about the negative rant

I have the 2004 RTS version. You could either use the dice roll combat (Or, well, percentages is more like it), or you could RTS the battles, with the result of the battle being the actual result. My biggest grope with that version is that you, for some reason, can only attack one place per turn.

Triple A was the game! Awesome, thanks for that link :)

I guess I would play. Haven't ever played it though.

Somebody did a freeware version somewhere on the internet, and it had multiplayer support.

Good ole Axis and Allies! My favored board game. The World at War was my favorite unofficial expansion to it. Traded many a nights sleep to complete a good game. Don't know any local players here, and my game was stolen many years ago. But lucky for us there is TripleA!!! It has all versions of A&A plus a bunch of non-A&A games. Mods, live lobby play, PBEM and a 2 level AI. Its opensourced and free. Programers, artists and modders always welcome. The AI needs work but I still enjoy it (give em big bids or play one side for x turns, then flip the board and play the other side). ATM my favorite TripleA mods are various versions of NWO and RSOC. The game is constantly being upgraded. A few weeks ago version 1.2.5.4 Stable was released.

I'm interested in PBEM games... anybody?

Here's a writeup I've worked on to get the TripleA article resubmitted to wikipedia.
(They got a delete frenzy going on over there, but then they fight to keep porn... go figure).

Here's the TripleA forums.

And Here is the download.
Works on anything that runs Java... Macs, PCs, Linux, BSD, Solaris, and more.
Just choose the right download.
