I hope civ 7 come with something new to Meso-America.
I was reading more about the history of México and just discover a man called Tezozómoc, who was a leader of triplice alliance before the Tenochtitlan's one.
His major city was Azcapotzalco, in the other coast of Tenochtitlan and can be a cool civ for an untold history of México.

You may have your timeline a bit wonky, the triple alliance was formed to rebel against Tezozomoc. you could squint your eyes and maybe add him as a leader of an hypothetical larger Nahua civ.

the triple alliance was formed to rebel against Tezozomoc
You are right, the triplice aliance we do know as Tenochtitlan, Texcoco e Tlacopan was formed in order to be against Tezozomoc, but Tezozomoc was a chief of another triplice aliance but with other cities, I don't remember know but was near of the cities we do know as the triplice aliance.

yeah, It's really interesting how these powerful mesoamerican entities were very often formed out of alliances of 3 cities, same thing with the Purepecha and the Mayapan league.
