After being the first ever (I think) to cease being a Quartermaster, I decided to get my status back ASAP.

I choose Large Monarch Domination and Iroquois, got a nice start

and start conquering :)

I didn't use Mapfinder, so I don't know the Dom limit, but the map was perfect for Domination. It was like this:

My opponents were Spanish, Americans, Arabians, English, Partugal and Netherlands, in order of being conquered.

During a couple of attempts, I found out that ToA is very useful, so I built is as fast as I could. My capital built it, while other cities were pumping MW's.

After capturing Spain, America, Arabia and England in 300AD, I was 2 tiles short of Domination. 2 tiles!!.

Well, I settled a couple more cities, so it came in 310AD.

Not a great date, especially if compared to bed_head's Emperor one 200 years before, but I'm a QM again! [party]

Welcome back. You didn't take long to make your return!:)

And it took less than 3 hours. I could take some lessons from you on finishing these games quickly.

Me too. It takes me a long time to do anything. Of course my computer is six years old.

Nice game, Pentium. You not only got back in the Quartermaster's Club, but you improved your old rating from 4.91 to 4.07. I'm only 4.03, so another game would rocket you past me.

If you're right behind me, the ranking is still at the low end of the table, but I think a 20% increase in your rank score is darn impressive, especially done in one game.

Thanks, guys! :)

Well, most of my games are peaceful, and those can be played very fast, even in one sitting. So when I try Domination, I want to play as fast, which is ok up to Monarch, but on higher levels, it requires more tactical and strategic planning. I tried an Emperor milkrun, but I think I was simply playing too fast and losing to many units due to poor planning.

What would really help my rating would be a Histo game (Tone, reminds you? ;)), preferably a DG/Deity one, but as I said, I just can's play one game for weeks.

"Sid Project" is still under constuction, and I hope I can complete it before Civ4. Not much time left, but that means even less for HoF. :( We'll see....

Well my histo game was on a small map on PTW deity. It took 60 hours. It is not that impressive (33rd at the moment), but you could probably milk a standard map and do a little better in score with not much more time spent. Maybe not top 10 but a big improvement.

I will play a game for months if needed. Once I finish my current 100k culture attempt I am seriously thinking about a good milk run to improve my place there as well. Either that or go for Sid.

60 hours is far too much for me. I can't stand one mistake wasting more than 10 hours of my time, even when I have plenty of it.

Good show Pentium. Your name represents you well with the time spent on these games!! I need a lesson from you on this technique or better dexterity. :D
