UPDATE 2 - 1947-48
MOMENT OF THE YEAR
“You will find that this is rather impossible as cooperation implies a sort of duality. But as we have received no official instruction from the States, we're sort of hanging in limbo. With no representative government or sovereign emperor at the helm, the people will become restless.” – Japan
Egypt gets down to business
In Egypt this year, the government started plans to revive their economy after the world war. They were successful in finding many new oil fields in there barren desert. They have plans to begin a government run exporting of that precious commodity for world use.
Also this year, the military began an overhaul process and started mobilization of their armed forces. They used their new found economy thanks to their export to use in this process.
General Amil Savlah signed peace treaties and alliances with both the USA and USSR.
Relations with the UK are strained from WWII, and it is believed throughout the Egyptian plains that the Unitarian Killer, as they are referred to by the people, are a sadistic, land hungry corporation of a county, and felt treated as a commodity and rewarded nothing for their hard defeats of Rommel in the Northern African Deserts. Effigies of the King were burned in many town squares over the pass year, with little resistance from the government stopping them.
"Egypt's been backward for far too long. We must make ourselves strong, if we are to shake our dependence from the west. We must expand and take control over natural resources that the west will need in order for us to be taken seriously. When we crush communism, we will call on the help of the USA. When we crush democracy, we will call on the help of the USSR. Egypt will be neither's puppet." – General Amil Savlah
Cuba has a rough year
The unification of the Caribbean goes without a hitch. Yeah right. The united states became a thorn in the side of newly appointed government, causing strife among their newly found citizens. Many of the people in Trinidad and Tobago began to riot, with false knowledge of forced entry in the new United Cuba. The government immediately began a peaceful, concentrated effort to ease their concern, however it is unclear at this point whether those actions were effective, but immediate results of riot and looting stopping were seen. It is generally accepted that the United States involvement with the newly formed Federation of Nations advisors were and extreme hindrance of the country process, creating much more work than help. Tensions between the two nations are very high coming up onto 1947
The United Kingdom, in an effort to help the new fledgling nation, and help with relations for the new Federation of Nations, sent aid, which was immediately spent on new industries, and a government backed health care system. Many of those effects will be seen in the coming years.
Cuba releases word this year of negations of peaceful entrance into their nation of other Latin nations. Because of the troubles with America, however, the correspondence really falls on skeptical ears. American involvement in Caribbean affairs reaches deep.
Cuban Navy, albeit small begins patrols of their waters, as evidence of coloration on the map.
USSR has put a word of helping hand also to the new country.
The war torn UK
The United kingdom begins an extensive military recruitment program designed to put it’s citizens to work, and also to replenish the massive amounts of the ranks lost in Europe. Nationalist ideals are favored in the parliament elections, with Churchill the overall favorite to remain Prime Minister. There are no plans to ask the war hero to step aside during peacetime.
Wartime spoils have created the ability to create nuclear weapons, and plans are in place to start their research program.
The military has been dispatched across the globe this year, to all the commonwealth and colonies.
More troops have been sent to the western blocks of Germany in response to France and Russian Hostilities toward the German people. Two forts were built in the western block, and were named Fort Winston, and Fort Chamberlaine respectively. They are positioned on the soviet/ eastern borders, near the city of hamburg, and the city of Bremen.
“Great Britain announces that henceforth all Commonwealths of the British Crown shall be allowed to raise their own armies, as militarily independent entities. God bless the King.” – Winston Churchill
Leadership of British West-Germany turned over to new federalized government
This evening, the honorable Prime Minister Winston Churchill signed into law the agreement that turned over Royal Army control of western Germany to the new government that has been approved to rule in the British sector. This government will rule autonomously, while the Royal Army shall maintain a military presence in the region to prevent violence, and aid the new assembly. With such an institution now in place, Germany can begin to rebuild and restructure after the Nazi regime.
USA
The United States begins efforts to re-equip the army after the war. This effort has helped the struggling economy, with their war machine now turned off.
“Earlier today, Bishop Francis Hyland, close adviser to President Truman announced the United States will become a "Sanctum of Democracy". He declared the United States will take a course of action that will ensure stability and freedom across the world, in the fight against tyranny. He also assured the world that though the United States will be adopting this attitude, it will not attempt to bring conflict with Communism.” - USA
France
France has begun the process of creating a navy, the likes of which they haven’t seen since the ship of the line days. Their plans are very promising for the country, and is solidifying their fledgling economy.
She puts her population to work, beginning a massive infrastructure rebuilding plan, designed to rebuild what was destroyed, and improve on what wasn’t.
France, in a sign of good faith, releases Syria and Lebanon, giving them independence.
While they did that, they nationalized their colonies, making them states, and creating the French empire, mandating all French owned foreign soil, citizens.
USSR becomes the Bully of 1947
The Russians mobilize their armies into Eastern Europe. The Russians claim this is a peaceful takeover, and the weak and war torn nations readily accepted unification with the USSR.
Rumors are abounding of massive amounts of cruelty and destruction of property in the Eastern Block of Germany. Many nations are calling Russia to answer for apparent inhuman actions.
The army was again mobilized to the West German and Austrian Borders. This act was seen as an act of war to Italy and Swiss, who also mobilized their forces to their prospective borders. For now no one has fired any shots, but the border is tense.
The Russians have little plans to withdraw from Germany anytime in the near future, and have publicly stated they will be taking over the state in the near future.
In an act of goodwill, the soviets send 36 Soviet T-34 tanks to The People's Republic of China. Also they began a bombing campaign in Manchuria to wipe out the remaining nationalist army. The fight is all but done in China, as the communists have complete control of all infrastructure.
“If the U.S continues itd acts of Neo-imperialism, the USSR will not join in, in any revamped League of Nations. Stalin also would like to say he found the American nuclear proliferation act "cute".-USSR
Brazil stays quiet
"The Empire of Brazil, an industrious, peaceful nation, wishes to spread the message of peace and fraternity to the world! We wish to open trade with all nations, regardless of government. Let peace and prosperity rule the land!" - Brazil
The national budget has all been allocated to upgrading her ports for the making of a new class of ships.
A new campaign of dual-citizenship and incentives given to civilians that exit the country and settle across the borders.
The land is surprisingly quiet based on the rest of the world.
China becomes a respectable nation again
China now completely controls Manchuria, as per their agreement with the USSR.
Constant concern for Hong Kong leads the world to believe that the relationship between the united kingdom and Communist China is a strained one, as either party trusts the other. There were 3 -5 believed communications on the matter of Hong Kong security during their political coup.
Half of our army will started a systematic purge throughout the country to finish of the last pockets of the nationalist party. This came with overwhelming support from the people, who see the communist state as a relief from the oppressive nationalists. They met actual hard resistance, and then all the sudden leadership for the nationalist army disappeared. Acts of sabotage possibly? Once the leadership was gone, most of the pockets imploded.
China now controls Korea and Vietnam. They met little resistance as propaganda for the communist state bled the border, and the Korean people actually fought alongside the “red” army. There are plans to create a new state in Korea, but met with some critisim from the Korean people. They feel wanting to join the communist state.
Because Vietnam was a province of France, the world is awaiting word what France will do.
From ashes to infrastructure
Turkey begins a massive renovation of infrastructure, with specific focus on the education system. This will last 10 years. It has created a buzz in the economy, and people are spending like crazy.
The new trade agreements with the world has created economy not only for Turkey, but for the world.
Saudi Arabia
USSR propaganda has run deep, and many of the Saudi people are afraid now of the Western world.
Also Saudi Arabia has become allies of the Russians.
Japan Becomes Restless
“You will find that this is rather impossible as cooperation implies a sort of duality. But as we have received no official instruction from the States, we're sort of hanging in limbo. With no representative government or sovereign emperor at the helm, the people will become restless.” – Japan
There have been reports of rioting near US army bases, as the people get more and more furious with the lack of rebuilding on the USA’s part. An answer must be reached soon or the United states might have a serious problem on their hands.
Germany Woes continue
What wasn't said earlier wasn't enough, the German people actually begin to move on from WWII, where others refuse.
The Newly appointed Federal Government began plans to rebuild their country, in every block except the Russian, where most of the money and supplies have been confiscated and re-issued to the Russian Army. Many are displeased with now things are being handled in Germany, and the people are beginning to get restless.

Diplomats were sent all over Asia and Oceania with little resistance.
The military was turned to a volunteer military, and dismantled their draft programs. This enables more use of trained personnel.
The SIS is founded in 1947.
