Is this how you feel about christmas?

I went X-mas shopping today. Waited in long lines to get gift certifacates, it was loud noisy and crowded. Traffic around the shopping center was horrible, partly because the snow, but mostly the massive amount of people trying to get gifts.

Got some other gifts for my relatives that I know they won't use, but that's the only thing I could think that wouldn't be percieved as insulting.

Loud bells of the salvation army clanged right next to the doors of buildings, could they think of anything more annoying then a rythmically jangle, da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding da-ding! On and on! GAH!

Starting in November I go down the streets and see trashy plastic figurines and an ungodly amount of ugly lights, what kind of idiot made those damn isicle lights they're hidious!

TV his slid from being filled with boring crap to boring sappy crap. They show the same damn movies every year! Radio plays the same damn stuff too!

Everyone's singing out of tune and off key the same radio songs that they don't know the lyrics too usually using a higher voice just to make it at cringe level!

A whole group of christian girls at my school get all christian fundamentalist on me and yell at me for nt having "chistmas spirit" or "faith". Would they just shut up!

Forced mingling with people I don't like to give them things they won't like and in return they'll give me things I won't like but will keep because the next time I'm forced to pretend I like them they'll ask me if I still have it, and then I'll dig it out of my closet quickly remove the tags/packaging and proclaim it's wonderous virtues.

Putting up trees and decorations that look ugly but is mandated by society.

Christmas is just too damn annoying!

Christmas celebrates the birth of our lord Jesus Christ. Something great doesn't just come over night, that why Jesus birth last from September to New Years (the time which we celebrate). Also remember, people all over came to witness the birth of the messiah, and they bear gifts. But not everyone was equally wealthy so some gifts were crappier than others, hence the crappy Christmas gifts (for historical purposes).

Jesus isn't here anymore so people can't give him gift, but the spirit of Jesus lives in each and everyone of us. That's why we have to get gifts for other people, it's really not for them, it's for our lord. However you don't necessarily have to buy the gifts, the rich may be able to buy love for Christmas, but the poor can always make love on Christmas.

Christmas is just an extreme perversion of the original pagan holiday celebrating the winter solstice. I will celebrate the predictable seasons, which make our agriculture possible. To SEASONS.

And maybe a couple XBOX games to play with the cousins.

Christmas is an excuse to get off of school/work and nothing more. I see no reason to believe Jesus was born on Christmas and see no reason to buy people gifts that I know they won't use. Truth be told gift giving should probably be abolished because if instead of guessing what other people want and buying something for them people could use the same money on themselves instead.

well i'd say i was poor enough, off to find a partner.

and yes perfection i feel pretty much the same.

is christmas (tradition) in the book of Revelation ?
" and they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry , and shall send gifts one to another ;because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth" Rev 11:10
( I sure it probably not but i see the simiarities with christmas except it will be rejoicing the death of the two prophets)

Great minds think alike!

Christmas celebrates the birth of our lord Jesus Christ.
Your lord, maybe, but not everybody's.

Christmas is okay, nice holiday break, but I am continually reminded that it is so amazingly Christian. Too much holiday cheer celebrating the birth of some guy who lived 2000 years ago, had a quiet life, got married, had kids, got killed.

It is also true that it was originally a pagan holiday. Most christian holidays are based on pagan holidays. Easter(Spring Equinox), Christmas, others. Even their holyday is based on pagan worship of the Sun. (Sunday-Sun) Get it?

No true. Easter celebrates the day when our lord rise from death and came back as a rabbit with chocolate eggs. And what better day could he chose to rise from the dead than the longest day of the year. (A reflection of when god said "let there be light" and created life)

Well, Monday thru Friday they have to work. You're not supposed to do anything but sit around on (Saturday-Sat), that only leaves Sunday.

I come from a large family and we find that "Kriss Kringle" is a good way to handle gifts amoung the adult family members. Yeah it would be better if you only bought a gift if you really wanted to and you knew that the recipient would appreciate it- but this is a reasonable compromise IMO.
