Balanced settings for epic game speed?

Hello everyone :)

This is my first post on this forum so please forgive me if this is not in the right place. I wasn't sure if this would be better suited in general balance forum as this isn't a balance "issue" per se.

I enjoy playing on epic game speed (on emperor difficulty if that matters), and I was wondering what other settings need to be changed/adjusted (if any) to create a fun, balanced game for this speed.

In particular, my main concerns are:

1. Map size - epic speed allows more unit movement due to more turns available, therefore I would think it would be more balanced to play on a larger map. Is a large(r) map more suited (read: balanced) for this game speed?

2. Civilizations and city states - Going off the previous point, what number of civs and city states is best for the ideal map size? Are they different than the defaults?

As far as advanced settings go (that aren't necessarily relevant for game speed):

3. I enjoy playing with events and understand them to be fairly balanced as long as you don't disable bad events so I don't see why this would change for epic speed.

4. Are research agreements balanced? Not sure what most people use here

5. Tech brokering/trading - the default is to check "no tech brokering" and uncheck "no tech trading" so I leave those alone... again I assume these are balanced?

6. Barbarian GG/GA Points - I leave this unchecked as it seems like people would just be able to farm barbarians.

7. Ancient ruins - I play with them on as I feel it benefits exploration and isn't necessarily unbalanced if all civs have same random chance to get bonuses.

I think the only setting that matters here is difficulty as everything else scales naturally.

I would definitely increase difficulty on slower gamespeeds as you have more time to form and react to decisions.

I personally play Huge/Marathon for roleplaying purposes and I find anything less than Deity to be a breeze, but that would be like Immortal on faster difficulties.

But in this case I'm willing to sacrifice some difficulty for immersion.

Reminder if you use Community Events, it is recommended you disable Civilization Events until further notice.

Yeah it has some bugs... that's supposed to get fixed, but the main developer just didn't get to it...
