Barbarian Colour Change

I will remain unconvinced on regional barbarians until we see any screenshots of Zulu and Ethiopia with an African city art, or even Portugal and Brazil with Mediterranean. I just think that any kind of accuracy in regionalism would come to the city styles, before a diversification of the barbs.

...and India, Siam, and Indonesia having different city art from China, Mongolia, Korea, and Japan, with India, Siam, and Indonesia having Indic city art.

Exactly. Ad infinitum, right? It does need sorting, it would be a lot of dev work for only a superficial change to the the gameplay, but it would be an enormous and laudable improvement.

Maybe everyone gets a new unit that can be disguised as barbarians and that's the Native American graphic for it.

Are there any new units in the tech tree? I'm posting from my phone, so loading the tech tree screenshot is pointless for me.

Did they just kind of make Polynesia's citystyle as a throwaway for one civ? You'd think that they would try to make it at least a little bit applicable to other civilizations...

True_Candyman I was hoping some one on the civfanatics forums would see my post and enhance the photo too a better quality

I think that the "axeman" unit is just a retextured brute.

It would get confusing if they had the same colours as Venice.

I was referring to if Venice is not in

It has Venice's colours from the wikipedia version of their flag, Venice has been removed as a city state. It's not worth working yourself up about other options, we're talking at least ~1 in 65,000 at this point in time that both of those happened by chance, Venice is pretty much confirmed.

Polynesia was stand alone DLC so they were willing to go the extra mile for more art. Same thing with Denmark and their longboats.

Personally I think that
A. It is a UU of an unknown (native American?) civ.
B. This civ had a rebellion of some sort (high negative unhappy)
C. Units of this civ turned rebel/barb.
Something like this might explain the mystery barb-unit.

I never have had -20 happy in a civ game, but I believe that you get a rebel uprising, right?
What kind of units are they? General barb units or also UU's?

The only time I've seen a barbarian uprising was in MadDjinn's ItR run. I do not recall seeing any Cossacks among the rebels.
