[R&F] Based on the new features - which civilizations and leaders should be introduced in R&F?

Maybe Mali is being saved for a DLC or the 2nd expansion? :dunno:
Or Nubia or Kongo has taken its slot......

I'm still kind of salty Firaxis added Nubia. It is good civ choice in itself but geographically and culturally it lies right next to Egypt while there are so many areas and cultures of black Africa left untouched by the series.

I hope civ6 has 50 civs in the end (to reach that number and to keep increase that happens with every iteration of series) and 5 of them will be black african.

I think Nubia was an inspired choice. Unless we don't get Ethiopia. Then it was a horrible choice.

For black African civs, we've got Kongo and Nubia so far. By the end of Civ VI's development, I'd also like to have, at least, Mali, Ethiopia, and the Zulu.

(I don't actually want the Zulu, I just recognize that they're inevitable.)

We do not have a new civ with a strong culture or tourism ability yet? I though Tamar would have been a possibility for this niche but that was not the case. Then who? The Celts? Italy?

Agreed. Africa and South-America need most of the love right now, though wouldn't call the game Eurocentric right now. I like the choices so far (almost all of them), but i'm concerned about the next choices. I really HOPE that the leak about Zulu's and Celts wasn't true, because Zulu is the last civ on earth you want to add right now. (Africa needs something else and we don't need a warmonger) and i wouldn't like a medieval Celt leader (that's so "ridicilous"). I like the Celts, but there is not enough focus for classical civs right now. And it is getting more & more likely that Ottomans or Inca's don't make it, or possibly even both. And that's a shame and also worrying since we also lack Maya's and Byzantium. (and we're not going to have Byzantium AND Ottomans in the same expansion, or Maya's AND Inca's in the same expansion, let alone that those four civs all make it in the second and final expansion).

And only fudging Brazil in South-America at this stage, is - ... i can't describe with a word.

Honestly, if we get Zulu I will just make a poll on civ fanatics about it, sometimes I am wondering how many people actually want them in a game instead of resigned surrender :D

Tamar was definitely the mysterious female leader Anton was hinting at. I still think with Wilhimina and the Cree, that Mali won't make it this expansion. I still think the Ottomans and Inca are in, and I'm pushing Carthage until we see that CS in a video.

I will say though that Zulu wouldn't surprise me as much as previously, though would be a surprise.

I don't think many do. They're just a recurring meme like Gandhi at this point. I think Firaxis overestimates the number of fans who actually appreciate them.

I likely wouldn't buy the Zulu if they were a DLC civ, for instance.

I just want at least Mali, Carthage and Ethiopia added. We know Zulu will also be added. It wouldn't hurt to have an additional African civ (like Ghana), but i prefer focus on mainstays for now.
and at least 2 additional South-American civs, preferrable three (Argentina, Muisca, Brazil and Inca's).

8 African and 4 South-American civs ideally, and right now we only have 2 African civs (Nubia and Kongo - and yes we also have Egypt, but i don't consider that African).

The problem with Zulu is that we almost have no different south-african representatives, except for a south africa civ, but i think none of us want that actually.

I could, but it would get me banned. :(

I don't think Brazil was an unworthy choice to represent Post-Colonial South America, I just wasn't expecting them to make the vanilla version. But remember, the 2016 Summer Olympics was held in Rio.....

but yes, Africa desperately needs more representation. South America only really needs the Inca (and like, right now), but the underrepresentation in Africa, specifically, is pretty heinous.

- Ashanti
- Mali/Songhai
- Ethiopia
- Nigeria/Yorumba
- Morocco/Bebers
- Kilwa
- Carthage

all of these would be good choices.

After Africa, the most criminally underrepresented region is pre-colonial North America, but given the fuss about the C***, I wouldn't blame Firaxis if they decided to not bother at all anymore (although they could always add the Iroquois with ease.)

It's spelled Yoruba, not "Yorumba". And add the Benin Kingdom and Madagascar to that list. :p

South America has some possible Civ choices besides the Inca....Argentina, Gran Colombia, Muisca, Tupi, Mapuche... Though with the living South Amerindians like the Mapuche, Firaxis could find themselves in a Puebloan/or Cree situation.

I actually think "Inca" perfectly covers most of those, since it's a successor state to all Andean civilizations. Argentina or Gran Colombia would be fine additions but not at the cost of a more high-profile choice from another region.

Actually the Inca never covered the ones I listed, they never conquered the Muisca or the Tupi, and struggled to conquer the Mapuche, for example.

I just don't like that the Inca are treated by Firaxis as "Pre-Columbian South America's only Civilization", with the rest being "uncivilized" or worst. People have suggested a Nazca Civ though, but they had no writing. Not much suggestions for Moche/Chimu/Tiwanaku/Chachapoya/Huari Civs. Same problem for those, the lack of recorded history, all we have left is archeological sites.

Still betting:
Italy
Inca

I'm moving to hedge my Ottomans with Zulu, because I suspect now that the video of the attack on Georgia was solely to highly Georgia.

Incoming Ottoman/Byzantine DLC! (if there are post-RF DLC)

Not to mention that the people attacking Georgia were Mongols. The father was dressed exactly like a Keshig model in game.

Well, there is one unique district and two unique improvements to reveal, some options:

Unique Districts:
Bazaar (Ottomans)
Ikanda (Zulus)
More some option?

Unique improvements:
Dun (Celts)
Terrace Farm (Incas)
Rock-Hewn Church (Ethiopia)
Végvár (Hungary)
Moais (Polynesian civ)
Paya (Burma)
More some option?

Which ones are most likely?
Mali could get a desert improvement, like a mud mosque producing faith and science. Or an even crazier idea is they exclusively can build a gold mine improvement which you receive gold as a luxury resource and can be built on flat desert. I'm not giving up hope on them.
Ottomans and then Inca with the above Unique Infrastructure as well. For the Inca they could call it an Andene.
