[R&F] Based on the new features - which civilizations and leaders should be introduced in R&F?

Since we have had 2 civs, which were no surprise at all to us. I really think next week they will continue the trend and reveal Mongols. We all know they are coming. I mean I quess it could be the Huns, another from civ 5. Wouldn't exactly be a shocker to me.

I think the Huns are less likely, since Scythia is basically a replacement for them. And I don't want broken Chuvash spoken again. :p

She could easily be the female leader Anton mentioned. The one who interacted with Great Ages.

...the warriors who fought the Mongols and look like Georgian mountain folk... the castle with rounded crenelations.

These guys?

I hadn't really tried to take a close look at them before.

Them, and especially the two that the father and daughter kill. They have tiny little bucklers that the Khevsureti people still use today for ceremonial combat.

Well, with Korea and Netherlands revealed I'm thinking that the new civ will be African. My guesses would be Ashanti and Mali.Though I really want it to be Ashanti, I think it is more likely to be Mali because civs that were already anounced were in the previous games just like Mali.Actually, I think Firaxis will reveal 5 old civs firstly and then 3 new ones.I wanted it to be 4 to 4 but now it seems unlikely to me for some reason.

We've seen Kabul, Brussels, Geneva, Preslav, Hattusa and Buenos Aires as city-states in the livestream. Stockholm and Granada were confirmed earlier.

I didn't end the stream, but i surely regret that Malta isn't a playable civ :p

Boudicca showed up as a great general, presumably precluding the return of that abomination as a leader, at any rate. :D

I think Canada and their Chateau Frontenac Wonder might be one of the earlier DLCs then.

I thought this too. That may very well be true.

At this point I'm convinced Canada & Frontenac will be included as some sort of post-release DLC. It's certainly a specific wonder to include on the cover but not the game...

But I gotta say, that Antarctic station doesn't *feel* like a wonder, especially since it looks absolutely nothing like the Amundsen-Scott station everyone says it does...

Also. With Taj Mahal confirmed, could that point to India getting an alt-leader? I sure hope so.

As much add I'd like a new leader for India, we're getting new American, Spanish, and Russian wonders, too, and won't be getting new leaders for all those civs....

I might be reading too much into this, but Amani means "peace" in Swahili. Some of the other governors seem based on real people or real ideas from cultures included in the game--Pingala is a real scholar and Moksha is a Hindu/Buddhist term. Liang is related to China. Victor appears to be English as the most notable Castellan in the English-language Wikipedia page is the Constable for the Tower of London. If Amani is a hint at a Swahili civ, Magnus the Steward could be a hint at Sweden with the Lord High Steward of Sweden.

Alternatively, they might just be included because they're not in the game.

If Fixaris wants to surprise everybody in a First look, next week would be a good time to do it. I'd be looking for either a surprise civ/leader that we didn't expect or we'd expect either Tamar of Georgia or the Mongols.

I would say that the most conspicuously absent civs in Civ VI would be:
- Ottomans
- Mongolia
- Maya
- Zulu
- Carthage
- a Native North American culture. My hope would be for the Lakota / Sioux.

So those are my best guesses for new civs.

But then again, the base game had a lot of surprises and more "unknown" civs and leaders, so I wouldn't be surprised to see curveballs like the Visigoths or the Mughals or Inuit :p

You forgot the Inca. :p And maybe the Celts and Byzantines.
