Battlefield 3

I've always wondered why there are still some people who deny the holocaust or believe the Earth is flat. I guess it's because some people just refuse to accept the truth, no matter how much evidence you pile up in front of them.

You're like those people, both sad and funny.

And people like you who think they can win an argument by bringing up evidence that is completely unrelated to, or from a sample taken in another context, the thing you are trying to prove. You are simply being a troll and as Beethoven said, "I'd hit you but in Germany we don't hit little girls."

I feel sorry for you that you can't accept the truth but I won't worry about it. All Xbox games have AA due to the fact that we can't use mice which are significantly more precise and accurate. It's a balance thing. Battlefield (and MoH 2010) actually has the second highest amount of auto-aim of any game I've played, only behind Halo 3 (Halo 2 had less).
Did you ever wonder why it is so much harder to fight a teammate then an enemy? (Stupid Recons dropping strikes on me 10 times in one game just for laughs. That's why I don't play hardcore.) That's because a lack of aim assist makes combat much harder.

Sorry about the double post but I thought this would be relevant enough to bump the thread.

Apparently there is some kinda closed alpha trial going on either in the near future or active now. Here's the sign in screen for confirmation on the battlelog site but we can't log in.

So far EA or DICE has not said anything about this but my theory is it may be the beta promised by EA for MoH 2010 owners like myself. I really hope so.

BF3 will have regenerating health. What do you think about it? For me it's completely ********. DICE are obsessed with realism. They even work with ex-soldiers to improve it in BF3. How about getting a medic to help them? How can your wounds heal in 10 sec after you got hit by M95 sniper rifle? This benefits base rapers and wookie campers - the two most annoying things in BFBC2.

...

Damn it. That's the one element I hoped they'd leave be.

If they were going for the really gritty, they'd take a page from the Project Reality mod and have injuries bleed out unless treated. Then again, I've played PR with bots and it is a #@&%ing pain trying to find a medic.

I also agree that regenerative health is something best left for the COD franchise.

Anyway, hopefully there will still be Hardcore mode like there was in BC2 where there was no health regeneration.

I agree with you guys that it's a bad move. I play BFBC2 solely in hardcore because in normal mode it's nearly impossible to kill anyone :yup:

Regenerating health is fine with me as long as it's slow. When it takes 60-90 seconds to heal from near death it become largely irrelevant outside light injuries you will still need medics. Now if the regen is like MoH 2010 then that's a problem as it's quite frustrating for someone to have Battlefield heath with CoD regeneration capabilities. We will see in September which one is true.

DICE are obsessed with realism.
If they were they would be working on a military sim game like ARMA. They aren't.

They are at least trying hard to give the authentic feel to it with some realism which from what I've seen looks pretty good.

Hard to kill someone in normal? What? Are you kidding me? I mean, seriously? Health regen is NOT that fast in normal nor does it take an entire clip unless you are missing.

It will probably be around the time it takes in BC2, which takes (i've never timed it) a little while to fully regen. By which point if you have had time to heal back up then you obviously were not getting shot at.

EDIT: From BF3 Alpha: When you are revived you don't immediately go up to full health either, you start at about 25 or 30% health and then rapidly recover the rest after you stand up. This will either reduce people rezzing you in the middle of firefights because you won't be a good bullet soaker OR able to immediately shoot back or medics will rez you more for the points :p
EDIT: You can deny a revive if you want, which is useful on the rare occasion you really need to change your loadout/class or are in the middle of a firefight and don't want to get raped as soon as you are rezzed.

I didn't see the little percentage health indicator in the corner (that is a rather bad health indicator). So the word 'almost' was wrong then, close enough. That explains why everyone is using %s.

EDIT: Health regen is apparently slow.

Yeah yeah, health regen has not been that fast in even BC2 to "ruin" the squad mechanic, what makes it problematic is the alck of a decent ingame voip.

I'm guessing your a PC or PS3 player? On Xbox you can use the party chat feature just fine to play BC2 so I would assume it would work in Battlefield 3.

Health regen ruins squad play and makes the medic rather useless. This isn't COD.

You have obviously not played nearly enough regular conquest if you believe Medics are useless. My squads usually consist of 2 medics an assault and an engineer. A medic is the second best class at killing infantry behind only assault (Or better if you are someone like me). Also the primary function of a medic is to revive fallen teammates to preserve reinforcement tickets, med kits are still very useful as they will keep you alive in the heat of battle. And besides in hardcore you only have what 30-50% health.. you don't need med kits because you die in 1-5 shots anyway.

PC of course, there is a squad voice chat but its unreliable and nobody uses it.
