Battlefield Asia: The Mod(Idea Stage...comments please with cherrys on top..)

Technically the Japanese are from China as well, but that doesn't mean they should start in China though...again, just thought I'd add that

Its a good suggestion, and I appreciate it, but I don't know if its the best for the Mod, because I'd have to hold the same standards to other civs.

I guess the difference is that the Koreans and Japanese all shifted in prehistoric times (if you really want to get down to it you could start everyone in Africa :) ), and before the scope of the game.

Whereas the Thai moved in historic times, merely a 1000 years ago, from an already 'civilized' state.

Anyway, it's an idea. The mod looks awesome by the way.

Thankyou..I'm starting the tech tree soon, I'm just in a non-civ mode currently(Not playing or working on anything related to Civ3)...maybe tommorow I'll actually start the tech tree(Nothing major, just new icons for alot of the techs, and the removal and replacement of several techs)

Bump!

I don't know I asked Redalert the other day, and he said it was good...But its a big map, so having it high quality could take awhile..

Any other news? This project got reasonably far along, it'd be a shame to see it fade away.

I've been working on the biq for awile, I've got the techs pretty much finished. All that remains is the remaining civs that don't have leaderheads(Annam/Vietnam, Ainu etc.) to get leaderheads(Shiro has decided to do a New Ho Chi Minh for the former), and for me to sort out remaining units for the mod.

advisors are a fantastic idea. Also, I'd like to see if theres anyone who could make a decent Asian interface to replace the existing Greco-Roman Civ one for the mod, maybe Vulcacon could help, or the person who made the Metal Interface.

Civarmy has done a new Tibetian Leader, which I think is quite good... :goodjob:

Heres some stuff that would be good for the mod:

-A New Interface based on Chinese/Japanese Paintings, with Dragon designs of various colors(Yellow, Green and Red) and a white background.

What civs still need information? I can do city list, and all that junk for anything...

post a pic of the interface?

No, i haven't made it, I just think it would be nice if someone with expertise in that field(like R8XFT for example) were to do something along those lines.

Well, the Ainu do, and I believe Malaysia does as well, and the Kymer(My current list has made up names in it...which is bad)

BeBro did the Greco-Roman interface, maybe he could help. It was Unexisted who did the one in the Native America mod, I just did a re-colour.

I am planning to do an interface for Anno Domini, but it will be my first venture into this, so at the moment, I'm not sure what goes where, but I will work it out when I do it for my mod. BeBro's thread where he introduced the Greco-Roman interface gives an indication of what goes where....

Incidently, Sword_Of_Geddon, I tried to pm you with this, but your capacity for pms is full.

Another update if anyone cares:

-The Mod is about 40-45% complete in a rough estimate. There are still units to add, and improvements and wonders to replace.

What I need:

-If anyone is an expert on tech-trees, I'd appreciate someone who can order the tech tree, including Arrows, in a new way from the current one, which is exactly like the epic game's arrangement.

2-Wonder Splashes for the Grand Canal and other remaining Wonders(Other than Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, Porculain Tower, Kobuki Theater, or the Silk Road)

3-A decent Map(see thread, but basically it should be reasonably sized to allow for expansion, but not to big as to slow the game down, and it should include India, China, Japan, S.East Asia, and Indonesia.

I'm sorry to say but without two or three, This mod will never be finished.

I tried to send a PM to RedAlert asking about the map, but his box was full
