Battlefield Asia: The Mod(Idea Stage...comments please with cherrys on top..)

here is my list
Pacific:
Yamato Clan or Japan
Ryuku Kindom
Emishi or Ainu
Philippean polynesian clan
maybe Taiwan, but not a han chinese civilization

Main land:
Choson, Koryo either as two or one civ
Wu or China
Khmer
Siam
Mongols
Huns
Tibet

how far down does your map go? to indonesia? and western? india, persia?

and the monk warriror from play the world is purely japanese, and shouldnt be used for any other civ. and a raider should be chinese not taiwanese, becauses horses arent native to taiwan, and the raider is han chinese. also you could but horses in Japan, but horses didnt come to japan until the korean invasion in the 300s when japan saw and imported them.

It covers the entire Oriant, from India to the Phillipenes good sir.

The Huns?

Rider goes back to China then I suppose. You can't build horse-mounted units without horses after all. I suppose on the Map version Japan would have to get Horses from Korea.

China was composed of Three separate kingdomsoriganally

No, originally it was Seven Kingdoms

and Korea has been two nations on two different occasions I believe(Choson-Koryo period and today respectively)

And Korea was One NAtion far more often.

I mainly separated them because of the lack of civs though. I think the three kingdoms were Wu, Jan, and Manchuria, but I'm no expert.

No, you're not. The Manchus didn't become a power untill the 1600s for one...

I can see the Nomads as their own group, but I'd have Tibet in the same group as China though.

Honestly, they should Belong in the South Asian or Nomad Cultures. They were Angry Nomads for a Looooooong time before they started spiining prayer wheels.

Also, I will be Firm on this. NO Modern Rulers for China. No one Later than the Last Emperess Dowager of the Ching. China has too much History. Infact, I'd like to Keep Modern Leaders out of it all together.

And No Tiawan either.

i mean as a starting time, you shouldnt have it start before 200bc or so becuase the clans and people wouldnt have been formed yet. a good starting date would be 0bc or 200s bc

HELLO?! There were Powerfull Chinese Dyansties WAY Before this! The Xhou, the Shang...

This is fantastic...:) I've been thinking of a similar sort of project, but focusing on the pacific (Roughly Thailand, diagonally down to New Zealand, encompassing Australia, PNG, Indonesia, Fiji, etc). I've got four Australian civs plus png worked out, was going to ask for help on the other nations. Guess some will overlap with these though!

Well Goldflash...you certainly don't hesitate to say whats on your mind lol

So no 20th century leaders and no Taiwan. Plus Tibet is in the Nomadic Group.

Margim: I'm glad you think so, I also think an Oceania mod in the future wouldn't be such a bad idea.

well the shang 1766-1121 BC, japan, and most of asia was nothing more than hunter gathers, the Shang would crush them. I think the game should start around 200s to balance it out more. if it covers the south east pacific you need java, and yes the huns came from mongolia, i dont know why white people think atila was white, on american tv they show the huns and the mongols as having blonde hair or being turkish, the were mongoliod not white!!!.

They were European in Age of Empires: The Conquerors too

Well Shiro, I think I'll have everyone start as Hunter Gatherers like I did for the American Continent Mod. Giving an even treatment to everyone. Of coarse, Goldflash must agree with this. Thankyou for helping out by the way. If we are going to make a mod on the region it would make sense for someone from the region to be a part of it.

Very nice, Shiro. But I'm not sure this mod is going to have pre-designated territory, am I correct?

Funny I should find this thread now. I was making a mod almost EXACTLY like this for PTW up until some time this summer when I called it quits and scrapped the project. The map and starting conditions (i.e. on equal footing) were just as you have been describing them. If you folks like and think it'll be helpful, I can attempt to post what I had at the time of my abandoning the project.

And yes, the Huns were from Asia. I thought that was fairly common knowledge  I was never taught otherwise, and I'm from the US, (AND I'm white, Shiro... hehe, hey, there's a bilingual pun in there...).

Though I have heard that there was a group of Nazis during WWII who were convinced that Attila was Aryan and had sort of a cult-thing around him....

in alot of movies are shows even on the history channel!!! the have the huns as white people with blonde hair, and the mongols as turks. my name is shirou, shiro was a typo from along time ago that i thought looked cool. and the nazis said alot of crazy things, like aryans were white people with blonde hair from tibet who now live in india and somehow also founded germany.

i dont really know if there should be a southern chinese civ, but it seems right because nothern chinese and south chinese are different, but i put them there to even out the land, because china has some of the best land on the map

You are quite right Shiro, China is alot like Russia is on European maps, they have a ridiculious amount of land to expand on. I think the Kantonese are an interesting idea. The map doesn't mention some of the civs in the above list though
