Battlefield Asia: The Mod(Idea Stage...comments please with cherrys on top..)

If the Manchus are included, then perhaps you can have them start at where Beijing is, and put China (the civ) starting in central China (the land) thus eliminating the need for a southern chinese civ. This makes more sense because we all know China started near the river (forgot which one) and nowhere close to Beijing. The thing about north and south being different is because the southern folks are native to the area where as the north is usually occupied by invaders. Xiong-Nu, Jurchens, Mongols, Manchus... I'd be surprised if it remained the same.

Yes the northern tribes are basically the same nomatic horseman and every so often one becomes powerful enough to try to invade China. I think this mod will be the mongols and the hiung-nu or Huns, because they lasted the longest and have had the most impact on world history, but the chinese did hired xiong-nu to defend and train the army, maybe the name of the raider should be changed to xiong-nu mercenary, and avalible with hourseback riding. I want to find some names of the siberans tribes. China started in the middle of the Hwang he river. and its major crop was wheat not rice. when did the kantonese come about?

Exactly. I changed the Rider to Xiong-Nu Mercenary in my never-finished East Asia mod to reflect history rather than represend some generic Chinese "rider." So I endorse this idea whole-heartedly.

haha

Burma

You are officially now part of the team Shiro my comrade...I can't thank you enough for doing this.

There's that Li Shi Min leaderhead from the Chinese release of Civ3 that someone fixed up (sorry, I forget who or I'd credit them)... might that work as a Cantonese/Southern China leaderhead?

Main leader should be Prithvi Narayan Shah...he is considered the founder of the modern state of Nepal, orginaly from the village of Gorkha, he conquered an area that today encompasses not only Nepal, but parts of India, and Tibet too. He moved the capital to Khatmandu, and opened relations with the British.

The UU for Nepal should be the Gurkha, which too this day are some of the best trained solidars on the planet. The British loved them in their East Asia territories, but before they were used by the royalty. I don't know how many Unique Units you want, but this works for late industrial to modern age. Could replace rifleman, or infantry.

what about a more ancient/medievil civ leader for nepal?

I thought about it, but leaned away from it, because Nepal is actually comprised of hundreds of ethnic groups that all used to have their own kingdoms and city states, and they weren't all unified until the 1700s, so picking the guy who unified them seemed better. The civilization is Nepal, not the Kiratis, Bhota, or any other big ethnic group.

I included a number on the GL list, and I can't think of any, but an anciant UU for them would be cool too.

Sad thing is until him, Mostly ethnic Indians were the rulers...Even today their ancestors the Pahari, still are the wealthier class in country....

If you really want someone, I guess pick King Gunakmadeva who lived about 720 AD...Even he basically just a Hindu prince though...His capital was Khatmandu though, and I would consider him the farthest back ruler, that can actually be traced to the modern state of Nepal...
