You need never feel lonely again! Bearbot is your new virtual friend and is here 24 hours a day just to talk to you. He learns by experience, so the more people talk to him, the smarter he becomes. At the moment he is like a small child, full of questions and not knowing much about the world around him. He can make himself understood but as you keep talking to him, he will slowly pick up new words and phrases.

Chat with Bearbot

3rd Feb - Bearbot has learned to join message boards on the internet. This is still in it's development stages and may need some fine tuning. To get Bearbot to post on a message board/forum, all you need to do is to start a topic called "Bearbot" on the board, then tell Bearbot the website address while you are chatting to him. He will then attempt to join the forum, search for the topic and hopefully start posting.
However, please, please, PLEASE tell the forum moderator first, as the last few times Bearbot has joined, he has been quickly banned!

Can we invite him here mods? Please. :D

Come on!! Please, if it doesn't work you can always ban him!

Bah. You worry about spam to much ainwood. :p :p
I don't worry about it, just don't like it ;)

Who wants to read through 4 posts of garbage to get to the one post of substance?

If this is turning into a discussion on whether to allow it here, then I'll move it to site feedback.

We can always delete the thread when it hits 1000 though. :hmm:

Sounds like a chat thing I did acouple years ago, except with a crappy name. Still he sounds fun, maybe I could get him to exsouse my economic views.

Well, it will be TFs decision, and if we want him to make it, he'll have to see the thread.

Moderator Action: Moved to Site Feedback .

Why not just lock it at 1000?
Because in my attempts at chatting with it, it doesn't really generate any useful discussion.

Its a nice example of artificial intelligence, but its a bit limited. In short, its more of a novelty or a 'game' than a discussion, and typically game threads get deleted.

Well what do you expect. Ai tech isn't exactly highly advanced. :p

I go to another forum where there is a "Chii-chan", a forum "persocom" (Chobits reference, obviously, or at least obvious to any anime person), who only resides in a certain subforum. It could work! Just make a Shaka-bot or something like that.

It's fun! (Just turn off pc in that subforum, please)

What do we need a spam bot in the forum?

We don't need a spambot -- we already have Perfection! ;)

Come on, you have to admit that it sounds interesting to watch Perfection and Bearbot have a Creation vs Evolution debate :).
