bed_09 - Random RaR Deity

we won't get GA for Glib. I don't know exactly what wonder would give us the GA. But we should go for a keshik rush and then eliminate the Americans while enjoying the GA

I was just trying to figure out DocT's comment about us being in a hurry to get a wonder induced GA.

I had suggested building Sun Tzu, since Stonehenge took care of the EXP piece and Sun Tzu is pretty useful itself. This would trigger the GA and allow you to declare with a healthy number of Keshiks already built using GA shields, instead of having to wait until war to get the benefit.

@Bed_head7 - any comments either way on waiting for Dmanakho?

@LK, I think with the pace we have kept, we might finish another round until d-man is back sat night, so i'd say go ahead and play

That is my thought, but it is bed_head7 game to control and I don't want to step on his toes.

My toes were made for steppin' on.

Seriously, I am laid back about everything. Since dmanakho expressed no concern over being skipped again, and it would get back to him in time for him to take it, playing on isn't a problem with me at all. Since I got home late tonight to respond, it might not work that way. I don't think romeo will be able to play tonight, but dmanakho said Saturday night so it should all work it. In short, go ahead and play LKendter.

Got it for tommorrow, heading to bed shortly.

having played with bedhead since bed02, I know that. that's why I knew I am not stepping on his toes asking Lk to play his turns ;)

Yeah, you have played in all but 01 and 07, which shot you right past Kaiser_Berger as the player with whom I have played the most. If anyone was to comment on my playing/hosting style, ThERat would be most qualified.

350 BC
I am really surprised that none of our slave we upgraded. I plan to get them all upgrading during my turns. We still need to find the other continent to get the maximum value from the Great Library.

I buy a worker from Tibet. There are more out there, but we don't have the cash.

(IT) As expected we get the Great Library.

330 BC
(IT) The freebies start pouring in - Elephant Training, Mounted Archery, Invention, Lateen Sail, Theology, Vassalage, Warrior Code, Milling, Clockworks, and Scientific Method. We were further behind then I realized.

310 BC
(IT) The freebies continue with Castle Building, Feudalism, Fundamentalism, Heraldry, Alchemy, Guilds, Scholasticism, and Usury. What is crazier is more is to come.

290 BC
(IT) The freebies include the all-important Crop Rotation along with Naval Spirit, Astronomy, and Navigation.

270 BC
(IT) The Iroquois build Angkor Wat.

250 BC
Choybalsan is formed at the tip of the island and claims us Salt. :D

230 BC
(IT) We get Siege Warfare as a freebie.
The FP is completed in Ta-Tu.

210 BC
I ship the Iroquois Scholasticism for 2 workers and $2. I am of the opinion you can never have enough free labor. ;)
(IT) We get the ancient tech of athletics.
The mysterious Babylon completes Shangri La.

190 BC
(IT) Next up is Map Making.
Tibet completes the Silk Road.

170 BC
(IT) Add Chivalry to the list.
Tibet completed Knights Templar.

==========================

Summary:
These were pure builder turns. The FP is on-line. The palace gardens and forbidden gardens are on the way for tourism income. Wool will be on-line in a couple of turns.

I think 100% of our workers are now peasants for faster worker tasks. I also grabbed a couple more of them.

I got a few pikes built. After the forbidden gardens are completed we can start Ta-Tu on every other turn keshiks to start another war and get our GA.

This is 3rd on my list and I hope to get it played by Saturday evening.

I was thinking of revolting. What should our target government be? Monarchy is kinda sucky, I usually go for Demo for the cash rush and trade bonus.
In my experience on Diety, once the GL goes up, use the free techs to revolt, then start maximizing like mad.

I am really advocating Feudal Monarchy. It fits prefectly here. Most cities don't have much growth potential, you're going to war soon, your UU is cheap enough for a size 7 city to build it in 2 turns...just look at Manors. I designed them exactly for that kind of games.
Of course, you will want to revolt ot ConMon or FedRep later again.
But, can you say 'No' to a 70sp Courthouse+Factory+Toll House? ;)

I could never play with the "Don't take their seed corn" rule because of my belief in this. Slaves are just so nice.

I am all for giving Fuedal Monarchy a try here. Sounds pretty good to me, and we do have a strong recommendation from the Doc.

IHT: Get the game up start the revolution. 7 turn anarchy. These should go quick then.
Turn 1: Leverage some of our tech lead into luxes and better maps.
Turn 2: More of the same
Turn 3: Hiawatha demands iron. If only I wasn't in anarchy. Pop engineering.
Turn 4: We meet babylon, get banking and engineering via TGL and it goes obsolete. Oh well.
Turn 5: Not much
Turn 6: Meet Ethiopia, who starts the circus maximus. They are down a ton of techs and have nothing worthwhile. Hammi gives us a really nice WM and 20 gold for Gems.
Turn 7: Become feudal monarchs, swap most stuff to manors. PP is due in 9 at a monopoly. Supplement our lousy gold with map sales (50 gold)
Turn 8: More of the same
Turn 9: Start our first Keshik.
Turn 10: Education gets us a worker WM and 16 gold from Poly. Never enough free labor.
We are in the buildup stage. I think 10 turns of builder stuff and a stack of 10 keshiks, and we can get this party started.
Feudal monarchy seems nice, just gotta remember that the civilopedia doesn't always match the game, yet. More than anything, we want all the production enhancers we can handle, as I think we will attempt to overrun our continent. We dont know the light green guys yet, but we are working on it. Let the worker chop finish, where it is please.

Looking good, thanks for taking care of the anarchy turns. I'll try to give ThERat a nice setup for a land grab, unless of course I decide to get it started myself.

Well we found out if feudal monarchy is worth it.
