I guess rest of the Aztecs got caught in Byzantine land because there's no more major attacks.

our units are too few and too weak to capture cities back from the Riflemen.
This may have been remotely possibly winnable if I hadn't lost Mecca

. It still may be remotely possibly winnable, but I don't know. I think you almost need to get the Great Library in diety+ games. That or an Archiapalego map.
Anyone care to elaborate on some of our mistakes? The reason I lost a couple of those cities was because all the units were in the two southern cities. I didn't have any units in the north, so in hindsight I should've rushed all the city improvements (aquaducts, etc) to swords and horses (which I later did). Even then, 1 sword/horse would've likely fallen to cavalry.
Like someone mentioned before, our Exp trait yielded almost nothing. Sci or Agr would've provided some benefit.
I'll concede the game. At first I wanted to play till the bitter end, but I don't think we have a chance.
