Well a Rant would be CONSTANTLY COMPLAINING at one particular item. Communism is the perfect government on paper, but with human greed it is an impossible form of government. The only way to have a working socialist government is to make money useless. To do this you need one government, guaranteed food, no pay checks, no individuality, everything would have to be the same. Look at Star Trek they have a sort of socialist government, they earn no wages, the only thing they can do is better themselves, which don't get me wrong it's good, but currently what is everyone's dream? To be rich, provide for their family, and be able to help other friends and family in need. Take away money, theres no longer the pride of being the one that supports your family, meaning your family doesn't lean on you, meaning they can get the same stuff on their own as they can with you. So I don't know if you were hinting at communism or not, but thats my opinions on it, it works in some countries, but not all, has advantages and equal disadvantages.I mean I run complete communist government on Civ.

1 dollar American is approximately 73 cents(? Idk if thats what they call it) Euro. But heres the kicker, Susan, it is more expensive over there. I mean Gas has always been outrageous over there. Land must cost double of what it is in the US, being that Europe has been around longer, so I assume Land is more expensive because it's historical and well Europe is what half the size of the U.S.? As for my respect for the American Military, AS STATED, SOME OF US CAN'T ENLIST BECAUSE OF PHYSICAL/MEDICAL LIMITATIONS, no matter how ridiculous it is they still do not allow. Trust me, I went to enlist of a tiny little heart problem I wasn't allowed. So yes I would go get my ass blown off in Iraq if I could, along side my brothers. Kinda like Hilary, supports the troops, Refuses funds for body armor. I believe there was a reason for this war, I don't believe it was for oil, I don't believe if was to look for what the media called WMDs, I believe it was to get actual WMDs(chemical and biological weapons which had been found) out of the hands of Saddam Hussien, to fix the mistake we made by putting him in, and to hope that by establishing a Democracy in the middle of chaos that it would help stabilize it. But do I know the actually reason? No. Do you? No. Regardless, if we pulled out now, all of our efforts in establishing a stable government will crumble, and all the lives lost will be in vain. If we can keep a stable government, then atleast they didn't die for nothing.

I was proposing that maybe we shouldn't be sending the troops into a useless "war" to be killed. And I said that if you support the war at this point, your either ******** or want the troops to be killed, and that's not mentioning the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis that are dead because of the chaos.

Hundreds of thousand of Iraqis were killed by Saddam before America went in. Was founded on the ideals that the people would have their own private lives, free of religious persecution, free to open buisnesses, and pretty much anything else that isn't against the law that they wanted to do. And you don't understand what the United States as really founded upon then, It was founded upon GREED. We didn't want to get stuck with taxes and bill. They were smart and could see that there may be a time when it is necessary to prevent the government from trampling on freedoms, for them it happened a few years later with the Sedation act. If I were to take the Patriot Act at face value, I would reject it. But if you look into it. They still have to have probable cause. They are only going to keep tabs on people they have probable cause, and they barely do that! There are checks and balances in the patriot act, it was approved by Democrats and Republicans.

As a matter of fact theres two reasons why I'd like it to be legal would be that the government could intervine with it. This would prevent it being laced with other drugs, lower our taxes, ect. Just make it the same as tobacco and alcohol except I'd up the age to 25. However, there would also have to be many more rules set forth on it to ensure it's not being abused.
But as for what did I do to help my country today, well today I did nothing. Well I donated spare change, since I'm flat broke, I only have spare change to donate. But. in the past month? Well sir, I'm sure I've helped my country more than you have. I assisted the Elderly by showing them how to use a computer to stay in touch with their family and friends as well as moved furniture. I've volunteereed to at a community center to teach under privilege children to read. I worked in the soup kitchen, 2 nights this month. Helped an old lady carry groceries to the car. Helped raise money for local fire department, state made cut backs, and they needed new gear, but we didn't get enough money
. I held the local church with a field day event, and then help them build the new Sunday school building, granted it was like 50 people helping, and all i really did was hold the frame up lol but I helped.
So who makes a difference the guy that goes the extra mile every day, even though it cost him money, or the guy that makes a movie about something tragic and profits from it?
Another random event idea.. two leaders smoke the peace pipe brings their nations together for long lasting peace, (automatic peace treaty for 50 turns) or one leader refuses to smoke the peacepipe, (-2)
