I am not very good at CIV  and I think my problem is what I build in the early game(like the first 7-10 builds). Any tips?

I have limited Internet access so forgive me if I don't post right back. It could be a very long while.

Start with a worker, and your first research should be something that worker can work on. Bronze Working is the most important early tech. You need it for three powerful things:

Slavery, so you can sack "excess" population for production
Copper, which gets revealed when you get this tech, and allows stronger melee units
Chopping forests, which is another powerful early game production bonus

Once your worker is done, you can either build a couple military units, or a settler, but there isnt much else you should be building at all during those first 50 turns or so.

From what I've gleaned, your build order always depends on your start. But in general, many folks seem to prefer a Worker first, followed by a Scout/Warrior, a Warrior, and a Settler. Unless you have a coastal start and know fishing, in which case you might want to start with the Work Boat instead of a Worker. Workers and Settlers prevent you from growing, so keep that in mind when you're just starting out.

Hope that helps.
