Do anyone knows here the band"millionare"?
Great rock band and their best song is champagne.
Really gives you a rush of blood to the head:D
They made a clip (in black and white)
About 2 bankrobbers on rollerblades and the Belgian special intervetion team(dont mess with those guys)
The funny thing is they used copies of the uniforms of them and the Belgian intervention team is tottaly clothed in Black.
They really look like the black ops in Half-life opposing force!
Seriuos. So i got this song on my pc and i play it when i have to kill again a mass of black ops in half-life!
You all really should listen to this song.
and the cool thing its almost completely instrumental with VERY good guitarplaying.
Go check it out!
:) :)

Yes, it does. My two favourite bands are belgian, dEUS and Zita Swoon, especially the later.
I also know Soulwax.

I still haven't heard much of millionaire though, but they're not alien to me.

Oh you like Zita Swoon too?
thats cool!
And dEUS too?!?
Whaw!
Finnaly someone who apprecaites good Belgian Talent.
Its definatley better then Avril Idiot liavigno

I have all the albums of dEUS and Zita Swoon (including that when they were still called Moondog Jr.). I just don't have the singles and one recorded live.
The concert of Zita Swoon I went was absolutely fantastic, but I was very disapointed with the one I saw of dEUS. I heard that they are not very amused with each other in the band and may split. What news do you have over there? If it's true it certainly shows at their concerts (or maybe was just that one), but hey, you can't do anything else than just love "In a Bar Under the Sea", can you?

I also got an album of Soulwax a few weeks ago, and also looks fine, but I want to hear it more time until I make a final judgement.

You know what philippe... "I say hey... My life is ok!" ;)

Belgian rock rules?

I hope it isn't anything like French rock. :p ;)

No, the lyrics are in english.

@philippe: I forgot another group I also know and like: Kiss My Jazz.

And I have a question for you regarding the name of dEUS: Does the word deus means anything in dutch and if so, what does it mean? I have a good reason to ask it: in portuguese Deus means God, which allows some word games when we are talking about the band.

No it doesnt mean anything in my language.
Never heard about kiss my jazz...
And im glad the text arent in Dutch because dutch isnt really a language you can make good songs out of it.
And hey McDread do you know calibre and carmen?
both very good rockbands and they co-operated for a song for the funds for clini-clowns.

No, I don't know those.
Kiss MY Jazz doesn't exist anymore, AFAIK. It was a project that some members of other bands in the Antwerp scene (thank God that Antwerp exists, I heard that it's an ugly city (said by belgians btw), but when it comes to music Antwerp rocks). Those guys have now their solo projects and their bands. One of them was Rudi Trouvé, who used to be in dEUS.

I have this idea/ theory that alternative rock is the flemmish response to the art of bande dessinée (comics) coming from the french part of the country ;)

Or its just our way of expressing ourself...
And hey you'r right we already heard enough about"Kuifje" and bobbin.;)
And yes Antwerp is a ugly city but you can find a lot of diamonds there....

That's true. ;)

I tell you what: hopefully in a not very distant future I'll plan a trip to the Low Countries. If Zita Swoon has any concert in Belgium at the time, you can bet that wherever they are that will certainly be a place to be (Zita Swoon are my favourite band and Stef Kamil Carlens, their leader, my music hero ). I invite you to the concert and for a drink after that.

Sure if you remember im only 15 and my only transportation is train or bus.And i think zita Swoon did a concert a few months ago in my local town.I wanted to go but all the tickets where sold.
And about that drink...I hope you can drink a lot of beer because i can  :)

Phew... northern europeans and their idolatration for beer. We here in the south, proud latins as we are, are more sophisticated than that when it comes to drinking :p. As a matter of fact I can't remember when was the last time I had a beer when going out. And I'm not talking about that stuff from Russia either. ;)

Hey i like to drink a porto!Sometimes...when im alone with a porto and some relaxing music and a good book....

I see you're not a doomed soul, but don't worry, your education will be a priority for me.
I'll introduce you to the divine paths of moscatel, ginginha, etc.
Have to go to sleep now. Nice talking to you. See you arround.
And keep me informed about the latest musical developments over there, either through this thread or by pm.

I can teach you the best position to vomit instead if you want. Not that I practiced it much, I only vomited once because of drinking, but I had some good teachers. :D

1st lesson:don't vomit upside down ;)
And my techers are my buddies but after a while they are all vomiting or having very intimate relationships;)

lol. Nothing like some good experimental classes.
