Next Civics: And did you revolt to free speech? that alone will help more than that GArtists you burned to create Mona Lisa's smile. But I am okay with that decision, as I was tempted to do it myself.
Finally GAge: While having a Golden Age is obviously nice, but we should plan them ... the reason why nobody triggered GA is because everyone is waiting to trigger it when we are building the Space Elevator.
Whether 8 turns now (while building parts) or 8 turns then (while building elevator), I hardly see how that makes much difference. Besides, I looked at the two sets above mine. Yours didn't mention these guys at all and the other said something about our "GP warehouse--guess we'll use 'em on a golden age".
And I don't think the invasion force is big enough ... there is at least two MA if you'd read Lucky's report. I think we need to double that compliments.
Ah, ... as a SSparts multiplier, it should be more optimal to get it as soon as possible (since it helps the building of other SSparts). Besides, now you at most save 3 SS parts, but assuming you read my report and build the Beanstalk in Yuechi, you get to speed up 3 SSparts + Elevator.
Not very much to report after my probably last turnset in this game.
Revolted to Free Speech. We got R&R
Some action:
Unfortunately, we can't build the Space Elevator in Yue-Chi, started in B2
We got a GS, he can (partially) research Fission.
I sent another transport to the banana island with 2 tanks and 2 artilleries and finished another transport for some Mech Infs. Dunno how many troops can defeat the (at least 3 but maybe 4) MAs. Unfortunately we don't have (advanced) flight for the carrier support.
Can this game transfered to BtS? There are some counter for tanks.

Got it. I will probably play tomorrow and post the next day. Don't have a civ capable computer now to look at the save, I just hope we can conquer banana island and build at least one SS part there, for the coolness factor.
Good turns, Negy! on YueChi not being able to build SE.
Well, if we must have the Super-Duper Banana City ... we could always move the transport back, upgrade those infantries with mechanics, or even research flight ... gunship do quite well against MAs.
I sincerely hope we have one more artists (now that Rex burned one) for another GAge when we get the free engineer from Fusion. Lucky, do you charm, and get us one more.
GreyFox asking me for a Great Artist? Now that is kind of change, isn`t it? I`ll do my best, maybe even revolt us back to caste system to accomplish that
Hummm... not sure about that. I only saw a scientist (but we in fact had 2, the other one was fortified, I only noticed him on my last turn. I am working on the report now, but it is late and I am tired, so maybe I will finish tomorrow.
Two artists I see. One went mad and cut his own left ears after painting Mona Lisa, the other had an ...uh ... unnatural union with a scientist and both were hanged publicly.
2 - 1 - 1 = 0 ... no more artist (look, ma, I can count!). But don't worry, with our luck, we should have one more born pretty soon.
The suspense will continue for a few more hours (this is just a short brake from work)... GM, GS, GA, GP?? Will we get another golden age or not? Stay tuned for more monkey news soon....
I micromanage a bit and make a controversial decision on Banana1: I build workshops over farms. I replace 1 grass farm in turn 0 and another one a few turns later.
On turn 10 I replace a plains river farm. That only saves 1 turn on production IIRC, but we will be needing less scientists and more production. I would keep doing this until we have just enough food for a few specialists (engineers). Anyway, this city will only produce one other SS part besides the one it is currently working on (B2 will finish the engine in 8 or 9 turns and build the other one) so next player will see exactly what is needed.
Mansa comes with this deal, we accept it:
I check the status of the mission GreyFox gave me:
Hummm... this is going to be hard... I guess a prophet would also be ok.... I will try to improve the 27% odds in three turns...
On turn 3 or so we get this message:
I wonder what might be happening, I remember seeing some troops moving through our territory the turn before... The answer comes immediately
JC captures a GK city the same turn, he really means business:
And goes on capturing 2 or 3 more (and at least another one is falling soon. Almost all of them on our borders, increasing borders tension. We drop from +12 to +9 with him (I had to refuse helping in the war), now pleased.
Here is the situation just before the arrival of our next Great Person:
Odds are now 30% for an Artist or a Prophet. Not too bad. Crossing fingers...
Looking at Xian:
We see it needs more food to work its tiles... We cannot farm over those last 3 forests, so we farm over the ivory camp. It will still leave one tile out, but I don`t think it is worth it to farm over the towns.
I press enter and Fission comes in just before our GP:
And the Great Person is.........
Rillieux. No golden age for us (I don`t think we will get the next GP before lauching, but we are still trying).
Well, we will be getting another engineer in 7 turns with Fusion, but this one arrives just in time to help with the elevator (I wait 2 turns and get 20 more hammers).
He just forgot to mention MM is a vassal of GK... (I think the program shouldn`t allow this kind of misleading offer). No thanks.
Instead of thanking us for not entering the war against him, Mansa Musa asks for a small present:
After I refuse he says we are not very given monkeys or something like that... Yeah, buddy, you get the point. You`ll have to research your own way to the stars...
Speaking of stars, with some help from our illustrious Great Engineer Rillieux, we build a lift to beyond the skies:
Those funny people around us did not like our new toy and start making stupid requests...
No to Mao
And no to GK
We get one more happiness resource:
Mansa is definitely smoking something very strong:
Thanks, but no, thanks.
(He had just renounced the protection of GK - e.g. chickened out from the war with JC, although I don`t remember any peace message).
We learn Fusion on my last turn
And I select Ecology as it is the fastest way for another SS part.
But what about Banana island? - you ask me. Well, I wanted to hand it over to you, but was one or two turns late:
Maybe I exaggerated, but I am sure we can get it now (I was preparing an even bigger invasion, but I grew a bit afraid of JC so left a few MAs at home).
The GP situation:
And the space race status:
I missed a screenshot with the new Roman cities, but the report is already too long I guess...
Save is attached. Get us that island, GreyFox!
(save attached on previous post because I had to split the report)
Okay, so no artists for us, eh? Let's look at the tech situation relative to our chance of a final Golden Age:
26 turns is the fastest city (Beijing), but we will learn all requisite tech in 16 turns.
Nah, no more Golden Egg for us. In that case, those Great Persons we have should be staked and burned. WE have no need for them. Burn them all.
The Great Engineer is settled at our Ironworks Banana Two:
And the two scientists are settled at our Oxford University Banana Three.
Now, Banana One is slated to produce the Docking Bay in 3 turns, while Banana One is slated to finish Engine in 9 turns. Since w ego for Ecology first instead of Refrigeration+Genetics, I really don't understand the rationale behind starving Banana One to add more hammers. The last part, Chambers, is quite heavy, and should be produced in Banana Two. So, Banana One get to build the Life Support (which will be available before Banana Two completes the Engine anyway). So, the production bottleneck is at Banana Two, not One. Thus, no reason to starve Banana One.
Thus I reverse the work done by Lucky and converted back the workshops to farms. One workshop is converted to watermills so that Banana One is stagnanting.
Research is the one slowing us down. I switch most cities to Research instead. We are way beyond JC and GK in terms of tech level of military, so no harm there. Plus they are busy killing each other (with GK losing, it seems).
Okay, now for the part where everyone is interested in -- The Banana Island.
IBT: While defending in Barbarian territory at Gaul, Mechanized Infantry loses to: Barbarian Modern Armor (16.00/40) (Prob Victory: 43.2%) While defending in Barbarian territory at Gaul, Mechanized Infantry loses to: Barbarian Modern Armor (17.20/40) (Prob Victory: 26.2%) While defending in Barbarian territory at Gaul, Cao Cao (Mechanized Infantry) loses to: Barbarian Modern Armor (40.00/40) (Prob Victory: 26.8%) While defending in Barbarian territory at Gaul, Tank loses to: Barbarian Modern Armor (33.20/40) (Prob Victory: 16.1%) While defending in Barbarian territory at Gaul, Tank defeats (16.80/28): Barbarian Modern Armor (Prob Victory: 88.0%)
And here is what is left in Gaul:
The sacrifices of General Monkey Cao Cao will be remembered by all.
Few turns later, JC ask us to cancel deals with Khan:
Nah, I don't think so. Plus, you never made us any Banana Salad anyway.
With the massive switch to research production and the two new settled super-scientists, we cut the techs turns by 1 each:
Sweet. WE are winning ...
And then the war horn blows ...
SpoilerWar :
Nah, false alarm.
Last turn, Mao came asking for help.
And I leave the save to our Founding Monkey to bring us to space.
Genetics will come in next turn and Banana OneTWO should start the Chambers. Notice that I am building one missionary there. This is to have the most hammer overflows to the next turn (missionary is the cheapest build, IIRC). Also, notice the distributions of a pair of workers each in the forests surrounding Banana Two (but outside any cities' BFC as required by our variant). They are waiting to do a massive one turn chop the next turn. These, coupled with the hammer overflow should produce the Chamber in no time.
Once Genetics is in, the rest of the cities can resume whatever you want to build .. we have no more use for research. And frankly, we monkies don't really care anymore ... the remaining builds are irrelevant now that we have Banana Island.

Nicely done, GreyFox! Of course, you are absolutely right about the workshops, when I started that I did not realize where the bottle neck were (well, and I did not know we would have an engineer to hurry the elevator). Nice thinking with the GPs as well, I had the feeling the next would arrive late. In any case, those artists in Beijing did wonders for the city in just 10 turns, did you see how many good tiles we got there? Yeah, I know it doesn`t really matter now, but it is nice anyway.
And it`s great that we now have enough a supply of bananas to feed our space ship crew.
