One of my favorite things to watch on youtube is skilled amateur musicians showcasing their ability or covering songs in very unique ways. Hopefully there are other great videos people are aware of that I might enjoy.
A few of my favorite videos right now-

This guy just grooves on a bare bones drum kit. This is a Meshell Ndegeocello cover. He has another cover of a Venetian Snares song that is just sick.

Link to video. This is a Buckethead cover. I like this version much more than the original. The guitar effect makes this sound different than electric guitars usually sound; it sounds very electronic.

Link to video. This is a piano cover of a rock song by The Mars Volta. He translates the song to the piano fantastically. I don't know how good this sounds to people that haven't heard the original song, but I think parts of this are beautiful.

Unfortunately, the actual source video doesn't work(I have to settle for an AudioSurf version of it, so AudioSurf's sound effects can be heard in the background), but I always liked this version of Soviet March on the piano by Pascal van Stekelenburg(I dunno if he counts as amateur or not):

Oh my... I have lots of youtubers I really love. I like this one for how clean his playing is. It's just so... smooth.

Personally, as someone who used to be able to play such things, i cannot tell if he is really being clean at all since the piece seems to be playing in the background anyway and i couldnt most of the time seperate his own playing from it (even if he had no power at all things would have sounded the same i think)

Nice vid though :)

Perhaps you should pick up the guitar ;)

And yeah, his tone is pretty similar to the real song, which does make it hard to distinguish it at some points. He makes some mistakes though and that's when you hear it... I personally think it just shows how skilled he is
