Best civ for Deity Domination?

I'm by no means a Deity player but the theory crafter in me says Ethiopia? You basically get a 20% bonus against every runaway until you've battered them down to no longer being runaways; the Mehal Sefari are pretty nice, too. Assuming you get an ideology before they go out of style, you can pick up Total War and have them start with March.

Ahh, nostalgia. I remember doing ridiculously broken stuff at release like multiple bulbs to pop Rifles around turn 80, then intentionally starting a two-front war and rolling both victims. Good thing there's no Russian winter in Civ.

Stuff like that makes me miss the days when we got to keep our abusive strategies, instead of just renting them until the developer patches them out.

Mongols are Pangaea beasts and less strong when you have to cross an ocean to kill everyone. Ottomans and the :c5science: civs start to look attractive when winning requires employing men with skinny arms to tell you how to cross the poison water.

Nothing changed though. Babylon is still no.1. Some civs have appropriate tools to do some domination at various eras, but Neb's advantage is just huge: plant academy @ turn 20 and beeline machinery before turn 100 on any map.

I did a diety victory with Venice. I took over City States spread around the world so that the computer couldn't get a Diplomacy victory and traded resources, luxuries and had trade routes with everyone so they wouldn't declare war on me.

But when I unleashed the mega producing city of Venice on the world it was like the Iron Curtain sliding over the world.
