The reason for this thread is to find the bet clues in the 1000 clues thread. The procedure is as follows:
Nominations: A person may nominate two clues (or sets of clues, you know, the ones that have a lot to do with each other, normally connected by "..."). You should write down the number(s) and the page it is found on. Also write the author of the clue. You cannot nominate any of your own clues.
Voting: A person has three votes, and they can either put two on one clue and one on a second clue, or they can place one vote on each of three different clues. You cannot vote for any of your own clues or any clues you have nominated, and you cannot place all three votes on the same clue.

The vote will be for the first 1000 clues only, and voting will begin on Nov. 20, so everyone has untill that time to submit clues. Voting will end on the 25th. Post the votes, and I (or someone else if they choose to, and get to it first) will taly up the total.

And my nominations:
163-164, Old n Slow, pg 5: You raise your hand in Economics class and ask about the large dilivery bonus from a camel with silk. You teach an Economics class and use the example of a dilivery bonus to a foreign civ as opportunity cost compaired to the trade arrows of a domestic delivery.

499, Archniz, pg 12 & 656, Specialist 290, pg 13: You go to Pizza Hut hoping to tip it for 100g or at least a scroll.--- Unfortunately, the instant you enter, you are lynched by a mob of red-shirted restaurant patrons.

My first nomination:

13. (Marlos, p. 1) You are bleary eyed at work every morning, but can't wait to get home to beat up those blasted [insert civ name here].

My second nomination:

558. (Prof. Garfield, p. 12) Your house burns down, and you say: "It's a good thing that I took those house insurance policy papers out of the fire safe box to put my civ2 backup saves and CD into."

My nominations:

jadelicia on page 11 said:
435) You expect there to be two meal rations a day - one with a bushel of wheat and another with a bushel of wheat.

Specialist290 on page 12 said:
562. You play Civ2 during a major nuclear exchange and don't even notice the bombs falling.

563. ...Or you do notice the bombs falling, but you conclude you have at least a 50-50 chance of survival.

The early days were the best ones.
There were also some good Iraq war related ones.

Well, my two votes will go to 435 (two meal rations of wheat) and my third vote will be for 13 (bleary eyed at work, but want to go destroy [civ].

My votes:
163-164 -2
435 -1

(Now if only more than three people had nominated...)

I know... with any luck, more will take an interest next time. The 25th still stands, if anyone else wants to vote...
The Person: You nominated 435, so you can't vote for it.

The Person couldn't vote for bushels of wheat because he nominated it, so I gave him 2 votes for bleary eyed at work. Thus:

3 votes for 435 two wheat rations (four if Peson could have voted for it)
3 votes for 13 bleary eyed at work
2 votes for 163-164 economics class

Same rules as before, the nominations untill Dec 6, and voting from then 'till dec 11. One important change: we will only do 1000-1500 this time to reduce the amount of searching required.
