gorn, on the appendices, im at work so i cant comment for certain but...

My version of ROTK is the white/grey bround paperback cover with what looks like a castle wall on it.

I belive it just briefly mentions the first age, with little detail. I dont belive that the destruction of the trees is mentioned specifically. However, it does give histories of the 2cd and 3rd ages, as well as the beginning of the 4th age.
