I have DoF with Assyria which has 29 turns left. Open diplomacy overview : global overview. I ask Assyria to DoF again (to renew) . He declines. But the global overview says 50 turns remaining!

Is the counter displaying wrong, or did Assyria get forced to renew somehow, even though he declined?

Save attached.

Exact same thing happened again with Germany. Attached that save as well.

I've encountered this as well.

It also doesn't just seem to be a visual bug as other civs complained to me afterwards and told me not to 'get too close to Mongolia'.

Ok, I just did sit through an extra 22 turns and the DoF timer definitely is correct. The DoF did not expire and I was still able to sign RAs and get lump sum gold.

Wasn't this the "normal" case all this time? That a DoF can be renewed at any time, not necessarily only after it expires? Or am I going nuts? (I am sure I have seen this since vanilla... only that the counter makes it evident now)

The issue here is that he's declining to renew it, but despite that it gets bumped up to 50 as if he accepted. It seems to be a relatively new bug.

Yes you can basically "trap" the AI into permanent friendship against their consent (until they denounce you)

Oh yes, I missed the "He declined"... I'm definitively going nuts.

Damn you Paradox!

Yay just read this is being fixed on Monday. Sounds like "renewing" won't be an option until the full 50 turns for DoF runs its course.
