Better mini-map

Argh!

THat minimap is bothering me, cause it's useless. I can't see anything on it.
It's just light blue (continents) on slightly darker blue (oceans) and transparent to boot.
There's Got to be a better way to design a mini-map.

There are certainly better ways to design a minimap, but modders won't be able to do that because the minimap is handled by parts of the game that are not available for modding. Minimap-Modding is restricted to changeing the size of the frame that holds the minimap - or hiding it.

(And yeah, I know this Thread is 2+ weeks old )
