Smellincoffee, personally, thinks we should hog all of the spices and exploit this like crazy. But then again, no one ever said he had a fair sense of play.

I'm in favor of going with a fresh start. (Wow, this is a first, ten pages into a game before we get it started... )

The real question is: Where do we go from here?

Dunno, Its a hard decision. If we abandon the city, what will be with the AI cities having spices.
Start it again with new saves!

I was correct. I just loaded the starting save off my disk and retired immediately, resulting in a shameful placement in the hall of fame. Just too bad we didn't find about this earlier...

First off, it's your SG, so its your call who starts it.

Second off, If your edit is accurate, then there should be no problem.

Third, regardless of who starts it, all saves should be posted in zips to avoid corruption.

I don't really care if it's a bug, a mod, or a upload error. The fact is that all Jungle Spices, and maybe all Spices in the game produce 25 shields per a turn. That one city alone is more productive when the population grows to size 2, then rest of our empire. And we'd all be tempted to use it... (If we use it, just this once, we'll get that Pikeman out, and save that city) I don't think we have much of a choice but to restart with a new save file...

Okay, I'm at school right now, but when I get home I'll generate three new starts using the same random criteria as last time...

Hmmm... Okay... But if the start looks like a total shafting I'm reshuffling.
(Been home for hours and forgot to generate the start. Whoops. Gonna let it wait till after dinner I'm afraid.)

Make sure we have a river, some bonus grassland, some flood plains, at least one lux, a few hills, a couple o' cows, by the sea...

Hope you don't mind Blas but I went and made a start. I also retired it, and no worries it put a 0 in my HoF. It's somewhat fitting too I think since it gave us the Chinese again!

PS - Could someone tell me how come I can't use the Img tag anymore? This new forum style is going to be a bear for SGers

From the minmap I would say that's Large (not sure).

Alerum, not sure what you mean? Are you still using the upload file feature at the bottom of the page? It looks to me like you're using the direct file attachment.

In case you didn't know: at the bottom of every page, you'll see a link for "upload file". Click that, and upload the appropriate file. After file is uploaded successfully, click the link for the most current upload file. Find your file, and right-click on it. Choose "save shortcut". Then go back to your post and click the little icon that looks like mountains. When the smaller window comes up, paste the shortcut into it, and select OK.

Looks like a decent start. BG's, on a river, fairly equatorial on the map. The only problem is that we'll probably have a lot of jungle to deal with. I'll assume we're using the same order? We should make exploration a bit more of a priority this time, we kind of lagged on that in the last one.
