Try UPDATE BIOS AND Chip Set but be careful to Update correctly the BIOS!!!!!!!!
Thank you for Everybory Help !!!!!!

I have a SIS 650. I updated everything, tried worldbuilder, Harkonnen's patch, 1.09, and nothing. Everything's still black.

Sorry but Your graphics chip is not supported by the program.

When I first installed the game, I had black terrain, eyes-and-teeth leaders, and bad tile resource icons (only bread if I remember).

I installed 1.09 and it fixed the leaderheads and resources, but I still have black terrain (but fixable with the reveal map work-arounds if I feel like cheating).

I also installed Harkonnen's fix, but got no additional improvement. I also get crashes after every 1-3 hr of play.

I'm running:
Compaq Presario 2195US
1.8ghz Althlon 2500+
Radeon 320M IGP
512 Ram

Radeon 320M IGP (intergated graphics processor)

That is your weak spot.

What can you do about that?

Wait for the Mac version next year, and play on my powerbook! :)

I've actually finished a couple of games with the black terrain (including the GOTM)- its doable but combined with the general slowness and periodic crashes, its almost like work... :crazyeye: I keep hoping someone will come up with a terrain mod that will be easier on the video processor.

Hey have you tried running with the worlbuilder work around?

The one where you open the world builder and reveal all terain.

Yes, the terrain reveal tricks work- the terrain is still a bit dim but at least its there (although I haven't played a whole game through with it yet).

For normal games, it is an option, but for Game of the Month, I assume would be considered a cheat.:nono:

In the two games I've finished I've had the terrain suddenly pop on when i got Satellites.

If you have a Brand computer such HP,Sony,Compaq..... look in their web site im my case I went to HP.... other case use dxdiag and find out what is you Bios..... if you don't be sure don't do you can permanetlly damage the computer find assistence in your city!!! Luck for you
