Blind and entangle are identical.

Perhaps blind should instead be a -20% or even -30% strength modifier.... or perhaps it should reduce the unit's LoS range to 0 until they are in a city with an herbalist. Is that possible?

Or -20% strength... and LoS to range 0.

Interesting ideas...
At the moment I think the only benefit of entangle over blinding light is that entangle never seems to get resisted.
a strength penalty seems like too much as it's really easy to get lots of troops with blind, but the LOS penalty makes perfect sense.

yeah, but 20% or 30% isn't extreme, and LoS gets negated by just one unit that resists, or one unblind unit.

don't make it until a city with an herbalist. just make it last a few turns. It would be too easy to ambush a bunch of blind units struggling to get back to a city, whereas if they just stayed put and fortified, they could wait out the blindness, not changing the way the spell works now by much, except that you could move and attack if you felt like taking a risk.

Yeah, that could work too, but then it would definitely need the strength penalty AND the LoS penalty.

I think a strength penalty and the blindness would be great, but let them keep the ability to move. You would have to make it unresistable for the LOSto have any effect though.

I just got to thinking it could be nice to have Blinding Light give a promotion that reducing their strength and line of sight, and makes them AI controlled, but with an AI control that avoids combat instead of seeking it like the Enraged AI does. (Perhaps that could be accomplished by combining the Enraged type AI control with the inability to attack.) I'm thinking the promotion could wear off on its own, or be removed with the Heal spell.

I really think that Entangled should be a Guardian Vines unit specific spell, and that Guardian Vines should return to being a Nature III summon. It might be nice for it to deal a small amount of poison damage too. I'm also thinking it could be nice for the spell to add a held-like promotion instead of immobilizing directly, so that it wouldn't wear off on its own but could be removed if another unit comes to cut the effected units free.

Oh yeah. I don't think they should be unable to move. Just blind, and therefore weakened.
