Explain always war. Does that mean there will be no trading?

Basically when you meet your opponent you can do some trading. but you must declare after you have done some trading. That will mean there will be no tech trading regimes that you can get like you can with other games.

EDIT. I have sent the game on.

If we are going to go to all war I would suggest no trading at all. As soon as you meet another civ you must declare war. At all times the Diplomacy Screen must show everyone at war with everone. Each player must research his own Tech path.
Thats my opinion but I would like to hear from all players before we get too far into the game.

I'd go along with both suggestions, but in a multiplayer game GreyBeards proposal is probably the easiest as negotiations could last for several turns.

Just a post to explain why I feel there should be no trading at all if we go to always war.
A civ. that is located in a central part of the map has a good chance of meeting up to 3 other civs early in the game. Trading would give them a large lead in Techs.
A civ that is located in a more remote part of the map will have less chance to trade and by the time they do make contact will have nothing to offer that the other civs don't already have.

For the reasons that Greybeard pointed out, then I vote to ban trading between nations if we do go total war...

sounds aright.

Hi! I'm back from vacation and ready to keep this game going. GPS to Gnarfflinger.

this sounds good to me. it looks like we've got a majority decision now, so i guess this is now an official rule.

With always war and restless barbarians this game should live up to it's name.
I'm wondering if I will even make it into the Middle Ages. :D
