FIRST SUCCESFUL COLONIES
The French in north america were the first ones, this thanks to full cooperation w/ the natives. In the caribean the greeks stablished their first colony in the larger of the islands. And in south america the mamlukes have found co-existance w/ the amazons, making their expedition succesful.
RULERS FROM BISCAY TO THE NORTH SEA
The English massive fleet currently has the most numerous ships in northern europe. England rules on her waters, but her status of complete supremacy might be a thing of the past. The Bavarian presence is being felt and brandenburg has begun a fleet of their own. In scandinavia research for naval exploration has also been completed.
TREATY OF GUBEN - PEACE WITH POLAND
After a succesful overun of the western-most territorys of poland by brandenburg and Bavaria, peace has been signed. The annexation of the territorys is now complete. It seems that the once powerful nation of Poland, the one feared in the classical era is declining.
EXPLORATION BOOM IN BYZANTIUM
Explorers financed by Constantinople, have made several discoverys, the empire might soon expand from the mediterrenean to lands further away than the ancient persians once held. more and more evidence points out of a large civilization existing further east, perhaps the byzantenes are close to India.
OTTOMANS TURN DOWN LAND PURCHASE
The Byzantenes had offered 6 PPs for the purchase of a territory that threatened much of their empire. The Ottomans however refused, this was a wise decision. Selling of the territory won by the muslims decades ago to christians would have reduced stability in the empire as a whole.
THE RACE FOR EMPIRE WARMS UP
The English have finaly landed in the americas, the 7th european nation to do such feat. Soon disputes shall raise from land claims as explorers bump into others.
CRISIS IN TENOCHTITLAN
Soon After the Spanish and Greeks left the Aztec capital, something was left by them, smallpox and typhus.... in two years 40% of the aztec population died, Emperor montezuma was among them. For the next 3 years there would be 9 emperors. But by 1519 the epidemics died out, the Aztecs had now acquired the basic immunities against european disease. However the disease had its turn of luck, for the entire older generation of leadership had died. The new emperor, Cuathemoc now lead a young liberal government. It was stablished by him, unlike the late montezuma, that isolationism had no future...... but neither did the foreign religions of european greed.
Cuathemoc wanted the aztecs to modernise, to "europanize". He had news of lost european explorers, calling themselfs english and bavarians......he would try his luck one last time.
LOST BOYS OF BAVARIA AND THE ENGLISH CONNECTION
Bavarian colonisers had begun to arrive in the americas, however one of the ships was lost, they arrived in the gulf and were welcomed by the natives, The Aztecs. They had a new policy, and so helped to re-pair the bavarian ship and re-supplied it. They also sent along 2 young aztec priests excellent in the forms of diplomacy.
Soon the news arrived further north to the english explorers and the rest is history. The Aztecs now had comunications w/ the most prominent naval powers of northern europe.
PIRATES AHOY!
In the area between the azores, the canary islands and gibraltar, the returning merchant treasure fleets of greece and spain were attacked. But it is said that they are not pirates, but privateers, state-paid pirates. Some of the silver and gold brought from new attica and the silver found in north mexico have been stolen. It is a wake up call to increase the navy and the security of the colonies.
The nation responisible for these Privateers remains unknown.

We alraedy have our forms of writing, we have preserved history for houndreds of years........my father, the late montezuma, before he died from the horrible disease that plagued my nation, told me that the spanish were not to be trusted; we welcomed your explorers to our capital, and yet it seems one man threatened us right before he left, telling our past emperor that we would someday be no more.
We will not allow your missionarys in our territory.
