Wife likes hair - so i have beard and ponytail. I must say it's great not to have to shave anymore and pay good money to get my hair cut. Nice to have a way to keep us both happy ;)

Ever seen the Seinfeld episode where Jerry decides to shave his chest?

Anyway, I don't plan on shaving my body hair, because my family is pretty hairy on the arms, legs, and chest - but none on the back.

Well we all know about French girls and body hair removal ;)

If I had dark back and shoulder hair, I'd wax it off regularly, like getting a haircut. I wouldn't bother w/ my chest unless I were single and headed to the tropics for vacation.

Fortunately I don't have unusually dense, thick or dark BH. Just a little patch of chest hair and hairy arms and legs. Everywhere else it's light enough I don't think it's even noticeable. And I'm glad I can grow a full beard, because I know guys who can't and that's kind of freaky in it's own way.

When I was younger I was disappointed that I was clearly not going to one of those hairless super-model looking guys, but hell, I'm not even average height -- and clearly I have no edge in the looks dept. I had to work at being engaging and interesting in other ways to impress women, and I've always managed to do okay despite my imperfections.

Turner -- surprised that you didn't see more hairy-pitted chicas running around in the late 90s... Here in Seattle it was trendy for a couple of years back then. I thought it was a national trend (Paula Cole, Lilith Fair etc...) I personally like the natural look on women. (However she has to be otherwise hot in a conventional sense to pull it off.) Strikes me as sensual, liberated and kind of European. (My friends (and fiancé) all think I'm perverted for it though.)

Probably not -- the only reason why there is a stigma attached to body hair removal for men is because it's perceived as feminine. So women can remove all the hair they want and no one's going to bat an eyelash or raise an eyebrow over it...

In fact if a woman has bushy eyebrows or monobrow or a mustache or chin hair I PRAY TO GAWD that she has the sense to remove the extra hair -- because it's unappealing to me, aesthetically.

Jeez, I had no idea you were a protoplasm!

Go help your mum do the dishes!

Yeah, I'm pretty darn hairy. Legs and arms and such. Being that I'm only 16, I don't have any chest or back hair, and I'm praying I don't get any of the latter. But I sure do have too much leg hair. I keep it, cause shaving is too womanly. If I had back hair, though, I don't know...whats that electric shock treatment?

Well... the back hair would definetly go away

I knew a guy that was hairier at the age of 15 than all of me and my buddies' dads combined. It was cool in a "Ripleys Believe it or Not" sorta way.

My wife-to-be has no qualms about removing body hair. Hell, she likes it. At the risk of extreme grossness, I'll tell you I think she even gets a little excited when I have an ingrown hair she can pluck. Sick, I know. In most other things, she's girly to the max.

You never imagine that the girl you're buying pink-tipped white roses for one day will be gouging the hell out of your middle eyebrow with a pair of tweezers before you know what hit you.

Anyway, I apologize for anyone being appalled by this post.

Tell us how that turns out, ok?

Now, why would ANY girl like it, if you started removing ALL of your body hair? :hmm:

That's just gross. I thought girls liked a little fur; mine does. ;)

Trendy? Yeah perhaps, but kind of gross, aye?

Gross, considering the alternative. Only problem is it can lead to the shower tray water outlet (er, what is the word) getting clogged up

i used to have hair in some places...

Are we to assume that

Hair? I have plenty, it's here to stay.

Waste of time shaving just to have it itch the next day and then look bad for weeks on end.

And yes it does cut down a bit on the choice of significant others. So be it. It is interesting, actually.... the poll was more about all-over body hair than facial hair.. but up here in Alaska, 1/4 to 1/3 of the nonmilitary adult male population has a beard and a similar number have moustaches -- clean-shaven faces are *barely* half of the total, and I expect theyd be a minority if we didn't have two big military bases close by. Many of the women here seem to be into that. When I am outside on trips, I notice a LOT less men with facial hair - and a lot more women who say they don't like men with it. I am not sure which is cause and which is effect.
