BoG 02 - Blizkrieg

Argh. First the forum crashes as I try to download the file, then I get an error trying to find it, and now a corrupt savefile.
Grimjack, could you try to zip and repost, or email to me at erikmesoy@yahoo.com ?

Will do as soon as I get home.
Grimjack

( In about two hours. )

OK, got it again. Working fine now.

Going slowly. Let me just say: 3 turns played, 6 french cities captured/razed, 2 leaders.
French military: 1 cav, 24 inf, 2 arty, 8 frigates, 3 galleons and 2 ironclads.
I request either some more time, or that we go to a 5-turn schedule.

Yes, take your time. Large scale warfare takes a lot of time.

Also, feel free to take just 5 turns if that makes you feel more comfortable.

Grimjack.

Preturn -1: I move some Panzers, workers and a transport around.
Interturn: nada.
Technical turn 0: No persian troops land. A couple of workers put on Shift-A or fortified for later use. I put an embassy in Tenochtitlan, which has 2 spears, 2 pikes, 2 rifles and 1 infantry. I sell Combustion to Babylon for silks, 100 gpt and some change. I then decide to invade France.
Just a moment!!!! Babylon has an MPP with France! So I declare war on France and let them do the first round of attacks.
Interturn: Babylon declares war on France.
The french capture six workers but lose four or so cav/inf.
Turn 1: Loads of panzers built. Bonn bank > cathedral. I wake every single unit on the hill near Odessa. I bombard down french units, then a Panzer from berlin kills 3 cav in a row and creates a leader. I name it Erik's Elite Panzer. I build another army with him. I fill the army with cav, so that it gets the multi-attack ability. I then blast some more 1hp infantry, and get another leader, renaming to Erik's Elite Panzer II.
Our first cav army does miserably, losing 10hp to a rifle in St. Petersburg. We do capture it though... afet the artillery destroyed 3 buildings and killed 2 citiziens. We then autoraze Besancon with a single Panzer. another Panzer captures Minsk. New Liepzig founded where Besancon was. Lots of Panzers moved into French territory.
Whoo, what a great turn!
Interturn: Rome declares war on Babylon! We lose our furs from Rome, as we are forced to declare war on them.
Aztecs and France sign a military alliance against us. We lose our Ivory too.
Turn 2 (1460 AD): I start the Pentagon in berlin. Moscow starts Courthouse.
Outside Chartres are 4 Panzers. The city has 3 inf, 1 conscript. First all our panzers retreat, taking out two inf. Then the conscript takes out 3 1hp panzers, and the last panzer taks the city!! We capture Chartres and the Great Wall.
I then lose 1 panzer capturing Avignon. We now have Gems. The group landed in the South proceeds to take out french rubber and horses. Loads of troop movement.
I check the French military with my new spy: 1 cav, 24 inf, 2 arty, 8 frigates, 3 galleons and 2 ironclads.
BTW, we are at war with everybody but the Babs.

Research FLight -> Amphibious War.
WLTC days celebrated everywhere.
Turn 3 (1465 AD): Sink some French Frigates. Rheims and Newton's captured.
Interturn: Aztecs bombard us, Babs declare war on them.
*Bleep* Avignon flips. We lost three units. What's worse is that we lost the gems for a turn or two.

Turn 4: (1470 AD): upon recapture I seriously consider razing Avignon. We capture Orleans and 1 Artillery. I sink a french frig/gall pair. Tours bombarded down to size 8. Grimjack's Raiders once again take out a stray infantry. An ancient cav army kills an inf in Tours. We then capture Tours and sink 5 ships.

Interturn: An Aztec clad out of nowhere sinks a transport, then a french 'clad sinks a *Destroyer*.
Lol, Rheims celebrates WLTCD.

Turn 5 (1475 AD) 2 Panzers lost while capturing Lyons. We now own Sun Tzu and Colossus.
I lose 1 Panzer capturing Paris and the Hanging Gardens.
With help from our glorious Artillery, i then lose no Panzers capturing Marseilles, the last French city.
Oh, and there are still about 10 Panzers with unused movement after this war.

Instead of 10-20 turns, how about 5-10?
I suggest building about 10 transports, then conquering Azteca in one turn with Marines. Everything except their capital city is coastal. Once we have taken a single city, we can unload Panzers there adn take Tenochtitlan.
Should we move the Palace to the south at some point?

Savefile .

If the french cities are fully built, then we may want to move palace. Since we are likely now to be at war though, I would not like the dip in production we are likely to get. As it is now, we produce a couple of Panzers every turn. This should be enough for capturing the world.

Great first turn, with three kills and a leader out of a Panzer :)
ANy Panzer armies yet

Grimjack

Ps, Agree on 5-10 from now on, as large scale warfare takes a lot of time.

Two leaders  .
No panzer armies. They are not useful. They heal slower, and attack less. 4 Panzers=12 attacks unless they die. 1 army= 3 attacks but wont probably die. 1/16 hp army=4 turns spent resting in a city.

Preturn -analyze the situation

Turn 1 - move all units into one huge SoD. Start building navy. Redline two ironclads with arty.

Turn 2 - lose spices, but well be okay. Building up

Turn 3 - kill some aztec naval units

Turn 4 - sink some more iron clads, but somehow, an ironclad sank an attacking battleship! Start building lots of marines

Turn 5 - left all movement up to next leader

Are we heading for Domination or Spaceship or Diplomacy?

0-Battleship lost against Aztecs Ironclad, I loaded a Veteran Panzer to a Cavalry Army.

1-Traded with Babylonians: Wines, Spices, Furs and 120 gpt for Incense and Mass Production
Persian Landing #1: Infantry, 2 Knights and Immortal, I attacked with 2 elite Panzers, another produces leader, Renamed the Panzer to "Ville's Panzer Horde's Headman":D , Leader to Berlin>Army. Moved Transports towards Nuremberg, Taxes to 2.6.2 (Radio in 8 turns, was 12)

2-Destroyer destroyed 2 Ironclads (1 attacking 1 defending)

3-Persian Landing #2: Full transport landed 1 pikeman, few Immortals, Cavalry, 2 Knights. We lost another Battleship against ironclad (WTH is going on:lol: ) I attacked 'clad with destroyer and it won (don't build Battleships, build destroyers instead;) )

4-Persian Landing #3: 3 Cavs and 1 Immortal, Attacked with Panzers
Destroyed some Aztec Ironclads again (with destroyer of course, it's in the name you know:p )

5-Nothing else than sinking those bloody Ironclads, OMG Aztecs had ONE destroyer:D

Is all ready for the Marine Invasion by Grimjack? 10 turns should be quite sufficient to build a load of Marines...
Grimjack: Up Now
Erik: On Deck
BoG: Waiting
Ville: Just Played

Got it. Expect to play later tonight.

1525AD. Panzer General Grimjack by the helm. Frist decree. We will brook no more resistance. We will conquer the world now.
NOt by some future date. We have the allmighty Panzer.
We will use the marines to estabslish a foothold, and then our panzers will sweep through the world.
The time to strike is NOW. All available transportation is loaded up. We discover a fully loaded transport right outside teh

Aztec coast. Troops are immediately landed on a hill outside an inland city.

IBT: Persia and Babylon signs a mutual aggression on us. This is not good. We lose four luxes. No matter, they will feel the

steel of our Panzers soon now.
Persia lands a single Cavalry on our shores. Cocky bastards. I sneak in a bit of happiness controll during production so as

not to have revolts in every city.

1530AD SIze 19 city defended by veteran Infantry. With only four Panzers, this feels like bad odds. WIll wait and see if some

razing of their improvements will make the city shrink. Rubber and oil is fairly high on the list of items to raze also.
Elite Panzer defeats invading Cavalry. Our invaders clear out three sectors of improvements. Have to be careful, as we would

like to have the Aztecs roadnet left after razing their cities. Yes, I would go after Conquest, not domination.

IBT: This turn, it is starting to look like an invasion. 4 infantry, a cavalry, two immortals and a pikeman lands. Will have

to take out our artillery this turn.

1535AD I spend 4 marines taking the size 6 Aztec city. It was defended by two infantry. Good thing we had lots of marines.

Time to rush a few airports and let oru panzers roll over them. We pillage the Aztecs rubber, mainly to prevent them from

rushing out infantry en masse from draftings. We also deal with the invasion force. Another transport is right outside our

coast, but we have many artillery. Our artillery redlines all visible Persian fleets.

IBT: I see Aztec headhunters crush themselvs against the walls of Acapulco. I see Marines behind walls getting slaughtered by

Cavalry. I see marines on the plains slaughter multiple cavalry. I see Persians land two transports full of INfantry and

Cavalry on our shores. I see Paris riot. Zoom ahead prevents other cities from rioting though.

1540AD Tlacopan resists the panzers all too well. I need 10 panzers to break their backs, three of the panzers are lost. We

scuttle the battleship who was hiding inside the city. My pillaging around Tlateloco doesn't seem to work, as it is now size

20. Our elite destroyer sinks an Aztec veteran. War weariness is starting to be a bother, as we go to 40% lux tax. The bad

thing is that should we go Republic, we would still have a bother with war weariness, since during anarchy we would have

incurred losses. Look at that landing.
BoG2_1525.jpg

I do not think I can break it in one turn. Lets see what remains.
AFter some 40ish artillery, all I can see are redlined Persians. OUr three elite Panzers kill six infantry and two Cavalry

without managing to spring forth a leader. The forth Panzer manages to bring forth Barbarossa. He will be used to rush a

battleship next turn.

IBT: Aztecs contacts us, and wants to get payed for peace. Heh, the nerve. Radio comes in. As expected, our free tech is

Ecology. Research is turned off. I will use money to rush stuff instead. NO new invaders though. Lets hope we can get some

fleet in he water for next time.

1545 Xochicalco is taken with one panzer lost. Many are redlined though. It is expensive to advance without artillery

support. texcoco is beseiged, but it is a standstill. They lose an infantry, and we lose a Panzer.

IBT: Counterattacking Cavalry is dealt with summarily. NO new invaders, although a few naval units are bombarding our shores.

1550 Tlatelolcos last redlined infantry manages to destroy three Panzers, but Tlatelolco is no more. Now Aztecs no longer

have horses, nor coal. Watch the workers on Auto dance. One turn they prepare to road forest. next turn they decide they do

not like the forest and leave. Barbarossas battleship destroys a Persian Ironclad. We lose four Panzers and redline two more

during round two of the Texcoco seige.

To next leader. I think we will take out the Aztecs in a turn or two. War wearines is a major problem though. At 50% luxes,

we still need entertainers in all our non-developed cities. I am thinking of revolution. Up to next leader though. We have

some defenders along with a LOT of artillery by our eastern battleship. You may want to load some artillery on a transport

and send towards Aztec lands, but I doubt artillery will be there in time to help. I just accepted the losses in exchange for

speed. We also have an airport now, so we can airlift in panzers. I think it is time to move our transports to our eastern

coast, in order to prepare for the eastern invasion. We already have a trsnport in Sevastapol on this coast.
I have a settler on the Aztec island, so that we may found a city by the Ivory next turn. This will help a bit with our

happines.
