As many of you know 2k let some anti-American comments by employees slip onto their new civ 5 website. That writing was originally part of the civilopedia and while it has been removed from the website it is apparently being consider "color" or "character" for the civilopedia and will be included in the game.
While the PR train has come to town on this for the most part..I'd like to ask why we should let them off the hook. All they did is remove their hate from pre-release advertisement. Its still going to be in the game. If you take these people to a bar and lull them into a false sense of security the ugly monster inside them is still there and will come out. Employees of 2k seem to have a very low opinion of a big chunk of their customers (Americans). And its not an "oh lets help these poor people" opinion its a "na-na-na-na we rule you drool" type opinion. Which isnt any surprise to me given the way we've been patronized and lied to by 2K employees about the Steam issue.
I propose a boycott of Civ 5 until the hate speech has been COMPLETELY removed from the game and the employee responsible is identified and forced to write a public letter of apology. This is just another example of big arrogant corporations taking we, the customers, for granted and I say why just let them off with not even a slap of the wrist.
