This is yet another variation on the different diplomacy AI exploits that are being described. This time, it's not really an exploit, because it's not totally reproducible, it's just a case where the AI is acting like a total idiot:
Someone reported previously that you can trade the AI e.g. 30 gold for 30 gold and end up improving your relations with the AI, because the AI considers it a "fair trade". Well, I wanted to try that, offering the AI 30g for 30g. When I wanted to click on "Do you accept this deal?" I mistakenly clicked on "What would make this deal work?" Well, then it got bizarre: The AI increased its own offer amount to 50g and added a World Map to its offer. My offer remained at 30g.
So I had already indicated that I'd be willing to give 30g for 30g, but no, the AI really wanted to give me more. Note: The AI was cautious towards me at the time (i.e. they weren't just trying to be nice) and was far superior in terms of military power (i.e. it's unlikely they felt threatened by me, unless my superior culture was a factor). Really strange.
