Breaking news!!!

Greetings to the friendly people of Fanatica, their Great Leader
Thunderfall and their President Akots.

A brave Killer Wabbit galley has sailed dangerous waters and the look-out
finally spotted unknown land and a Fanatican city on its shores. The crew
of the galley actually was very happy they were still afloat after spending
many weeks off-shore without instructions from the Admirality. ;)

The Killer Wabbits are looking forward to learn more about Fanatica and
explore options for peace and prosperity. Therefore we propose that
delegates of both nations arrange a chat on MSN in the coming days.

An ambassador has already arrived in the the florishing capital of
Fanatica.

Best regards,

The Anarcho-Syndicalist community of the Killer Wabbits.

I would assume that our Ambassador will be Beam but not sure. For now, while the Ambassador post is vacant, Matrix and me are the acting ambassadors to CDZ.

I (and also Matrix) have met many CDZ members in real life. Beam, Darnkess, Kryszcztof, smalltalk, Banzai, Jack Merchant, KingReno, Stapel, Schip, Shabbaman, ErikK and Propain. The relationship with them is good.
I think it would be smart to have me or Matrix (even more) as Embassadors to them.

That is awesome. Just as we had lost all hope as the curragh sunk, they find us. Maybe the mapmakers weren't that evil after all. :)

And now we have an upper hand on C3B as they propably (not sure of course... but looking from the post, it must've been a suicide galley from... somewhere and not coming from the shores of C3B) found us first... yay. let's do the diplo well.

Cool. I like other teams, just as long as they don't infringe on our expansion. I doubt CDZ will do that.

The following message has been dispatched in return to CDZ:

"Greetings to the great capitain of CDZ Honorable Anarres and Chief Butcher Kemal!

The people of Fanatica send their sincere greetings to the people of CDZ in return!

The fortunate encounter of our civilizations fills the hearts of every CivFanatic with joy and excitement. We hope that your brave sailors can fully rest and find comfort in our land before continuing their journey.

Please be assured in our peaceful nature and great desire to cooperate and exchange information between our countries.

An official Ambassador will be soon elected. At present please consider that Consul of Internal Affairs akots and Consul of Foreign Affairs Matrix will be happy to start negotiations between our countries.

Best regards

Citizens of CFC"

This contacts means that we will be having techs at a very discounted price. They have also established Embassy in our capital. I think we cannot trade with them apart from byuing techs for gold and we cannot seriously count on their military help against C3B. I'm sure they are eager to get the contact with C3B as well and as soon as possible. Since we cannot prevent them from doing that. C3B will also get techs at a discounted rate soon. I would expect that then, CDZ will try to share the contacts with CGN but still the CGN galley (if they have any) would have to sail through the "treacherous waters".

I'm also rather sure that they will soon have Astronomy. May be not so soon, but within a very short time.

The point is what we can offer them to join our side in the forthcoming conflict against C3B. We would be certainly happy to share our ivory with them but alas, this is not possible. Apart from that, we have nothing but a few gold coins. We cannot even trade workers. Well, there is always an opportunity to trade cities. We can offer them Monarchy but this knowledge would be rather useless to them since the great Hanging Gardens were already built.

Trade, trade, trade. :) Are they in the Middle Ages? And where are we on the tech tree?

I distinctly remember a barbarian uprising..... not too long ago.

Wasn't it in the land between us and C3B? And we sent JT there to enslave barbarians? That means we're behind in tech. Fun. :crazyeye:

With this contact with CDZ perhaps we should put our efforts into getting to feudalism fast... Pikemen and Mideival infantry go a long way to counter immortals.

What if.......we pay these 18 GPT for the ancient age techs...and then we get 20 turns to research feudalism before war with c3b!

It would be a very good idea. I'm thinking the same here. In about 20 turns we should be able to get Feudalism and stockpile some cash to rush harbor and do upgrades. This will make the Immortals obsolete. We then can start building some spearmen for upgrade to pikemen as well to reinforce the defensive forces of our army.

Discovery of Feudalism will essentially render Immortals obsolete. Since C3B is apparently building Immortals as the only unit, this would put an end to their advantage on the battlefield. We would also get better defenders and better attackers. Still our Ancient Cavalry would have to fight Immortals but their Immortals will have to fight pikemen. And instead of swords, we will get maces which is a decent unit, same battle stats as Immortals.

The point will be to perform a tricky diplomacy with CDZ. I'm sure, they will not sell us any tech before they meet with C3B. Then, they will observe, evaluate and decide which side to take. Obviously, we should try to lure them to our side. And by all reasonable costs.

C3B won't have much to offer gold wise. Let us hope their coffers are almost empty when they meet CDZ.

We should have a strong edge here.

The strike plan I described, can be enacted in turn 30 regardless, we just need to have enough galleys, galleys we need anyways. If diplomacy fails (as we have seen before), we can still call the Rio-Fortaleza Strike with Ancient Cavalry, Javelineers and Swordsmen, since those costs can be placed around 20-30 turns.
