A very partial transcript of the BBC interview is on this link and you can watch the whole interview:

For anyone interested in computer security, NASA and secret UFO data, it's fantastic viewing.

SK: What did you find inside Nasa?

GM: One of these people was a Nasa photographic expert, and she said that in building eight of Johnson Space Centre they regularly airbrushed out images of UFOs from the high-resolution satellite imaging. What she said was there was there: there were folders called "filtered" and "unfiltered", "processed" and "raw", something like that.

I got one picture out of the folder, and bearing in mind this is a 56k dial-up, so a very slow internet connection, in dial-up days, using the remote control programme I turned the colour down to 4bit colour and the screen resolution really, really low, and even then the picture was still juddering as it came onto the screen.

But what came on to the screen was amazing. It was a culmination of all my efforts. It was a picture of something that definitely wasn't man-made.

It was above the Earth's hemisphere. It kind of looked like a satellite. It was cigar-shaped and had geodesic domes above, below, to the left, the right and both ends of it, and although it was a low-resolution picture it was very close up.

This thing was hanging in space, the earth's hemisphere visible below it, and no rivets, no seams, none of the stuff associated with normal man-made manufacturing.

Anyway if tried in the UK he might get 6 months community service, but the USA want to extradite him and he's looking at a 60 year sentence. Note: we can't extradite to a country that uses torture and right now the USA is being grilled by the UN about it's 'torture' programme http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4974852.stm. A high profile case at this time is a great coincidence and I hope his lawyers play it smart....

Why are they always cigar shaped, why not pen shaped or something:confused: Or like the Austin Powers movie.

:goodjob:

That was really interesting and I'm at a loss to explain it as anything but genuine testimony, to me, as skeptical as I am the guy seems very genuine, what he's seeing though? I honestly don't know, if it truly is alien technology and antigrav tech in particular then I'm somewhat amazed. Are we sure though it's not military tech? I mean in case of a breach you might want to give the impresison that it's Roswellesque because it obfuscates the true source so you might inform people it's alien even though it's actually high security research. I know for example that NASA has documented reports on the possibilities in physics of anti grav tech and I've seen reports of magnetic antigravity tech. I've also seen papers submitted about plausible or at least scientificly hypothetical anti grav techs to NASA.

I'm gonna steal this if you don't mind and post it on another forum, I'd be intereseted in spreading this around being as I have always had a bit of an amateur interest in the paranormal.

Whatever this is true/fake I can't see 60 years as realistic and that guff about $5000 worth of damage to PC's wont play here, even servers don't cost that much. I find it unlikely he will get deported unless it's for diplomatic reasons. He's looking at a year or two tops maybe, but the US assertion is patently nonsense.

 Someone please check his brain, I believe that we have another looney for an institute.:p

I suspect the UFOs are an attempt by the guy to justify his actions. Hacking into NASA sounds must less criminal if you find something suggesting a cover-up. IMO he made it up.

Or he could be trying some insanity defense.

That's a good point, it's certainly better than mine :) Saying that though why not just claim you were there to try and get caught to establish the weakness in CIA security, some people have done this, got a jail sentence then been taken on by the CIA when they leave jail.

Maybe NASA held the data on insecure systems on purpose in order to carry out a misinformation campaign? The hacker did say that he felt that there were foreign government agents also frequenting the site.

Hacking, UFO's, military secrets and high technology all together; subculture heaven!

Perhaps he didn't want to dice with a 60 year jail sentence for the chance to work for the CIA, or perhaps he was a conspiracy theorist looking for kudos among his peer :p

lol, no.
Spoiler if you watch Lost in the UK :
Its a character from Lost, Mr. Eko

hence the spoiler tags... I'm pretty sure he was in the last episode on C4 though :hmm:

[/threadjack](sorry)

The problem I have with the US government covering up UFOs or having verifiable information on them is that, why don't other governments have extensive data on the subject? I mean if NASA was blotting out satellite pictures or area 51 has a bunch of UFOs in some hangar, I'm sure there would be another government in the world that would have similar information. It’s too big a secret to keep and there are too many inconsistancies in the field that it makes me skeptical.

If he won't be extradited, it would be quite convenient if he somehow just appeared bound and gagged on the Capital steps with a note penned to him which reads "This person spied against the United States of America". Once he's over here, regardless of how it happened, we can try him.
